The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 9

She still remembered how the Landon family had bowed and scraped before him on her wedding day, fawning like ancient ministers before an emperor, desperately begging for his favor.

During holidays, he would usually send someone to deliver gifts. This year, the deliveries had been especially frequent, almost monthly, but he himself had never made an appearance.

She had heard he was in a horrific car accident that nearly took his life, leaving him paralyzed.

So why was he suddenly back?

Did the Landons have something to celebrate, bringing this titan out in a wheelchair just to flex their connections?

Riley thought about it carefully.

Pierce's younger sister hadn't had a boyfriend for the past two years, so it couldn't be a wedding.

The Landon patriarch's birthday was still a month away—too early for that.

Whatever, a titan's business was far above her pay grade.

But considering the immense respect the Landons held for him, she really couldn't afford to be late.

Riley sent Pierce a text, telling him she was heading to the estate first and mentioning that Sebastian had returned, urging him to wrap up and come over quickly. She then changed her clothes and headed out with Mr. Carter.

At the estate.

As Riley entered the grand living room, she saw Arthur Landon, the family patriarch, conversing with Sebastian while the rest of the family sat nearby, keeping them company.

Normally exuding a strict, unapproachable demeanor, Arthur was now smiling warmly at Sebastian like an affectionately doting grandfather.

Status truly dictated who sat at the top.

Seeing them deep in conversation, Riley didn't interrupt. She quietly made her way to a corner seat, intending to keep a low profile.

But the moment she sat down, she felt a gaze lock onto her. She looked up—it was Sebastian.

The man was dressed in a sleek black dress shirt. His deep eyes were fixed on her. Although devastatingly handsome, the sharpness of his features emitted an indescribable, dark chill that commanded absolute fear.
