The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2180

Joshua's barrage of sharp, rhetorical questions shut Leonard down completely.

Leonard resorted to cold mockery. "You were awfully quiet in front of Miss Croft earlier. Now that she's not around, you're finally showing your true colors."

Joshua smiled faintly. "Unlike you, I prefer to maintain a good image in front of my friends.

If you make a terrible first impression, no amount of backtracking will ever save you."

Leonard's eyes turned lethal.

This bastard!

Stella smoothly interjected. "Let's just get to the hospital before we delay your treatment any further."

As she spoke, she cast a quick glance at the scratches on Joshua's hand.

...They actually looked like they had already scabbed over.

She quickly looked away, maintaining a neutral expression. "Let's go. I'll drive."

Since Stella had taken the lead, Leonard swallowed his pride and followed her to the car.

Just as he reached for the passenger door, a tall figure smoothly stepped in front of him and slipped into the seat.

A crisp, arrogant voice drifted out.

"Thanks."

Leonard stood there, utterly stunned.

When reality set back in, his face turned black with rage.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Joshua lazily clicked his seatbelt into place. "Aren't we going to the hospital? What, did you want two grown men crammed into the back seat? Don't you think that's a bit weird?"

Refusing to play along with Joshua's ridiculous games, Leonard said coldly, "I didn't open that door for you."

Joshua barely lifted an eyelid. "I thought you were finally feeling remorseful about your cat attacking me and wanted to show some genuine sincerity.

Clearly, I was mistaken. If my presence bothers you that much, I won't force it. Neither of you has to come with me."

He reached down as if to unbuckle his seatbelt.

Calico was still in his clutches. If they let him walk away now, there was no chance he'd ever hand the cat over.
