Ovikov (2)
87 Training with a Novikov (2)
Ophelia dodged his initial strike by swiftly eluding him. As she ran past him she tightened the row of chains, her eyes becoming more alert. She then twirled the chains and faced Danil, who had turned to reveal his formidable back. Without blinking an eye, she swiftly and forcefully slammed the chains on his back, which startled him. 1
“Ohhhhh!” Yulia faked discomfort, groaning. “Goodness gracious!”
The other attendees muttered in disbelief, and Victor remained rooted to the place, gazing at Ophelia as if he had just witnessed a ghost.
Danil sighed and groaned. With the chain in hand, Ophelia started to whirl it around like a rope being used to lasso a bull’s neck.
Danil turned to look at her, a searing wrath written on his features. He attempted to charge again, but Ophelia threw the chain around his ax and forced him to release his solid hold on it.
“No weapons?” She inquired with a snort, lowered the chain row, and scowled. “Do not think you can touch a hair on my body, Danil Novikov.”
“Who on earth do you think you are?!” Danil screamed, his claws shooting out.
“Someone you shouldn’t mess with.” She muttered as golden scales formed underneath her eyes. “I’ll make you regret all your life choices.”
Ophelia and Danil came into contact in the center of the training ground. Their grunts accompanied the physical combat. Ophelia dodged Danil’s strikes, which were directed at her face, with ease as if she could read his thoughts.
Frustrated by her effortless avoidance, Danil slammed one hand into her stomach and another into her forehead. She managed to dodge the blow to

her forehead, but she was abruptly caught off guard, making it impossible for her to dodge the blow to her stomach.
He trod on her dress as she was being pulled back, ripping it. Ophelia spat out blood, sporting an amazed expression as a sneaky smirk twisted his lips.
“My claws will be used next time,” Danil snarled, flashing his fangs.
Ophelia nodded, rubbed her stomach, and tore her dress in half, leaving the top part over her knees. She grasped the clothing fragment as if it were a weapon. Along with the golden scales under her eyes, her golden eyes glittered.
Danil blinked. “Are you kidding me, right now?” With a sneer of incredulity, he questioned. “I want you dead; I’m not just here for fun.”
“I don’t like it when I am underestimated, Danil Novikov.” With her lips curled in a wicked smile, Ophelia mumbled.
“Are they going to murder one another?” Yulia questioned Viktor, who had been silent for some time.
The males in attendance were so engrossed in the conflict at hand that they were unable to whoop at all.
“I really hope not.” Viktor whispered.
“Hmm.” Yulia nodded as she ate another slice of cake. “I really hope so.”
This time, Ophelia was the first to charge at Danil, and he quickly charged at her with the intention of ripping her head off of her body. Her body was abruptly consumed in a harsh golden fire that burned the fabric she was holding. The fire then replaced her dagger, which was quickly engulfed in flames, and when the flames subsided, it revealed itself to be a sword.
“Don’t! No!” Reaching out his hand, Viktor yelled at the situation.

Yulia’s eyes grew wide.
Danil was blasted by Ophelia’s fire as she swung her sword at him. She wanted his head chopped off! Unexpectedly, her blade ran into another steel weapon, causing a loud impact that echoed across the training ground.
She exhaled, the flames around her died down, and when she glanced up, Nikolai was standing in front of her. His sword was in contact with hers. He had a small smile that graced his lips, his eyes twinkled with mirth, focused on her intently.
“FireStorm,” He mumbled. “Only I, and nobody else, is permitted to kill a
Novikov.”
When Ophelia glanced in his direction, Nikolai’s smile brightened in response to those murderous-intent golden eyes. Goddess! She was amazing beyond belief. He expected she would sleep all day before he departed for the city, but she didn’t! Instead, She was battling his cousin who had been plotting her death for some time.
She muttered, “I wasn’t going to kill him,” and pulled her blade back, which instantly disappeared from view. “He is quite obnoxious and pretentious. Much like a snake.”
She scowled at Danil, who was lying on the ground behind Nikolai. The way he was breathing indicated that he had fought death.
“I merely intended to leave a scar so he would remember me.” She growled. “And why is this?” Laying his weapon on the ground, Nikolai enquired.
“Danil created the plan.” Danil was startled by Ophelia’s comments, and she continued to glare at him, grimacing and crossing her arms over her chest. Nikolai stood in front of her and clicked his tongue, blocking her view from

his beloved cousin. “Darling, don’t look at anyone but me.”
Ophelia pursed her lips and turned to look at Nikolai, who was sporting a very impressed grin that softened his angular features. He carefully took off his cloak and as he wrapped his cloak around Ophelia, he smiled.
“Danil is the planner, and Boris is the doer.” He whispered to her and she.
nodded.
“The guards will be a diversion, and Boris will throw the spear Ophelia hissed indignantly, and Nikolai stroked her hair.
“I understand, sweetheart, but sincerely, why did you feel the need to disrobe in front of people?” He spoke in a gentle whisper.
Ophelia’s eyes widened. “W..what?!” She pushed Nikolai by the chest and approached Danil, who was now standing.
“Nikolai has no shame at all.” Yulia chuckled before leaping over the fence. She stood next to Viktor, who was intently observing the scenario, and said in a singsong tone, “There’s going to be drama.”
“I’m aware that you haven’t taken the lesson to heart.” She hissed at him.
“You haven’t either, Ophelia Viadislav.” Danil snarled at her. “I don’t want you to come into my home and wreck it, okay? You dragons always act in this way! Obliterate something so great! You are a dragon, and you have no business being here. Especially after what your family did to my family!”
Always the most dangerous are those who keep to themselves. They endure pain of every type, bury feelings deeper than anyone could ever conceive, and become scarred and altered as a result.
“Danil!” Yulia and Viktor arrived at the scene after Viktor called.
The outburst from Danil surprised Ophelia.
“Leave.” Nikolai gave the men present a low yet dominating roar.
the dragoness behind.
“What are you talking about?” Ophelia asked, raising a brow. “You wolves attacked us first; I have nothing to do with your family.”
“How dare you?” Daniel sneered.
“There’s something else, isn’t there?” Ophelia questioned Nikola who was grinning at her despite the tension. She sighed and turned to face Danil.
“You should avoid digging,” Viktor said to her as he tried to pull Danil away from the training ground. “It won’t benefit you in any good way.”
