Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 73

Seraphina's fingers tightened imperceptibly.

But she didn't hesitate for long.

"You don't need to worry about any of that, Professor," she said, her voice unshakable. "My husband and I are already preparing for a divorce. He's taking custody of the child."

The private room fell dead silent.

Finally, Victor nodded solemnly. "Alright. Then from now on, you can focus entirely on your research."

A lump formed in Seraphina's throat, tears threatening to spill.

"Thank you, Professor."

Julian looked like he wanted to slam his hands on the table in pure joy, but out of respect for Victor, he held back. He settled for a massive, ear-to-ear grin that crinkled the corners of his eyes.

"This is amazing! You're finally back on the team, Seraphina! The lab is going to be so much better with you there."

Seraphina offered a small smile and took a sip of her tea. The heavy stone that had been crushing her chest for six years finally lifted.

Just then, the door to the private room swung open.

Seraphina looked up, and her fingers jerked, nearly dropping her teacup.

He was dressed in a sleek black suit, tall and imposing, his sharp features radiating a predatory aura that commanded the room.

Gideon Cole.

Seraphina's mind went entirely blank.

Her boss?

What was he doing here?

Acting as if he hadn't even noticed her, Gideon walked straight in and gave Professor Vane a polite nod.

Julian stood up, greeting him warmly. "Gideon! Take a seat."

Gideon sat directly across from Victor, and a server quickly brought over another set of teacups.

Sitting on the sidelines, Seraphina watched Gideon and Victor exchange pleasantries, a sudden realization hitting her.

Julian had mentioned earlier that they secured a massive sponsor for this project—a top-tier billionaire who was personally funding and partnering with them.
