Chapter 195: Chapter 195

Minutes later, Dylan and Oliver rushed to Elise’s apartment.

Zoey had arrived a step ahead of them.

Madeline was already crying her eyes out.

Jessica looked full of self-blame. Seeing Dylan, she took the initiative to admit her fault: "Dylan, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault. I had a bit to drink last night and overslept today."

"There’s no point in saying this now," Dylan said coldly. "When exactly did Elise go missing?"

Jessica said, "I woke up at 8:25, and Miss Harper was already gone by then."

"Dr. Sanders woke me up, and only then did I realize Elise was gone," Madeline wiped her tears, blaming herself. "It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t dragged Dr. Sanders to drink with me, we wouldn’t have overslept..."

Dylan’s face was dark and sullen. "Where is the home surveillance footage?"

"Checked it," Zoey handed a tablet to Dylan. "At 7:05, Elise came out of her room wearing pajamas and walked straight to the door. She didn’t change her shoes or take anything with her."

Dylan took the tablet and carefully examined the surveillance footage.

From the moment the bedroom door opened and Elise walked out to when she pushed open the front door and stepped outside, the whole process took less than a minute.

Dylan replayed it twice.

"Something is wrong with her state..." Dylan’s expression turned solemn. "She’s crying."

Hearing this, everyone held their breath.

Jessica suddenly realized, her face changing drastically: "Could Miss Harper have regained her memories?"

"Then what do we do?" Madeline cried even louder. "Could she do something desperate..."

"Don’t talk nonsense!" Zoey sharply interrupted Madeline. "Elise wouldn’t do anything desperate. She’s currently pregnant with her second child and just reunited with Robin. As a mother, she wouldn’t—she absolutely wouldn’t!"

Madeline quickly covered her mouth, not daring to say another word, though tears still flowed uncontrollably.

Aaron pulled out his phone and dialed James’s number: "Immediately retrieve surveillance footage from the surrounding area with Elise’s apartment as the center. Move fast. Also arrange a team to search nearby, and report any clues immediately."

Hanging up, Aaron looked at Dylan: "We can’t just wait around either. Think carefully—if Elise regained her memories, where might she go?"

Dylan knit his brows tightly, his eyes fixed on the surveillance footage on the tablet.

In the video, Elise walked very slowly, her steps uneven, looking completely soul-bereft.

Why did she leave this place, and where did she want to go?

Where could she be?

Dylan closed his eyes, his thin lips pressed tightly together.

Suddenly, he snapped his eyes open and looked at Oliver. "Give me the car keys!"

Oliver immediately pulled out the car keys and handed them over.

Dylan snatched the keys, turned around, and strode out.

"Dylan, where are you going?" Aaron called out after him.

"Keep searching! Contact me immediately if you get any news!"

Dylan walked hurriedly without turning back.

Aaron frowned. "Oliver, let’s head out and search together. Madeline, you and Dr. Sanders stay at home and wait—maybe she’ll come back on her own soon. In any case, everyone keep your phones reachable and share any progress immediately."

"Okay!"

"Alright!"

In the backyard of their villa, there was actually a small two-story building. Hidden largely beneath the dense branches of a large-leaved privet tree, it was remarkably inconspicuous.

The building had a footprint of only eighty to ninety square meters, featuring a duplex layout across two floors, and it had been locked away for years.

When it was first built, its owner had cherished it like a rare treasure.

However, it was later sealed away along with its owner’s memories.

For five years, no one had set foot inside, and dust covered every corner of the small building.

A cold wind blew past, causing a few withered yellow leaves to drift slowly downward.
