Alpha Daddies And Their Innocent Little Maid (18+) novel Chapter 194

Lilith pov

“You are the triplets’ mate.”

The triplets' mate.

Samuel's voice rang across the battlefield, far louder than it should have been, echoing through the air until it seemed impossible for anyone not to hear it. I knew they had. I could feel it. Lucien. Silas. Claude. Their gazes landed on me all at once, heavy enough to feel like physical weight pressing against my skin.

The words echoed inside my head again and again.

The triplets' mate.

For a moment, I didn't react. I didn't move. I didn't speak.

I just stood there.

The Alphas looked as though they wanted to say something. Lucien's expression had gone completely still. Silas looked ready to step forward. Claude's jaw had tightened so hard I thought he might crack a tooth.

And Samuel...

Samuel simply watched me.

His eyes glittered with amusement, his grin widening slowly as he studied my face. He was waiting for it. Waiting for the shock. The betrayal. The disgust. The hatred. He wanted to see me break beneath the weight of the truth he had just thrown into the open but I didn't give him any of it.

Instead, a sound escaped me.

A chuckle, low and quiet, barely audible.

For a second, nobody moved. Then the chuckle came again and again.

Growing louder, growing harsher until laughter spilled from my lips.

The sound echoed across the battlefield, slicing through the screams, the growls, the clash of weapons. Even the rogues charging toward their deaths seemed to hesitate. One by one, heads turned.

Everyone watched and I laughed.

I laughed so hard my shoulders shook.

Not because it was funny, not because I was happy. There wasn't an ounce of amusement in the sound.

It was hollow, cold, dry.

The kind of laughter that came from someone standing on the edge of a cliff with nothing left to lose.

Samuel's smile slowly faded, his brows furrowed. For the first time since this battle began, uncertainty flashed across his face.

The Alphas never looked away, not for a second.

Then finally, I spoke.

"I see..."

My voice carried through the air, soft, yet somehow everyone heard it.

"So that was the choice you were talking about." Another laugh tore from my throat. "So that was what you meant." I lifted my head toward the sky.

"That was why you were sorry. What was it you said?" I shouted. "That I was strong? That I was kind? That my soul was beautiful?"

The words dripped with mockery, with bitterness, with years of pain.

My vision blurred, not from tears. I was beyond tears. Something inside me had already shattered.

"Don't kid me, Moon Goddess!"

The scream ripped from my chest, raw and violent.

The entire battlefield seemed to freeze.

Even Samuel took a step back as his arm loosened around me and I stumbled forward before collapsing to my knees on the blood-soaked ground.

My laughter never stopped. It mixed with every word, every accusation. Every wound I had carried my entire life.

"Where were you?" I screamed at the sky. "Where were you all those years when I begged for you?!"

The wind howled. Dark clouds rolled across the heavens but I didn't stop.

"I called for you!" My voice cracked. "I prayed to you!" The laughter turned uglier, more broken. "And you never answered!"

My hands dug into the dirt beneath me. Every memory came flooding back.

My father's death.

My mother's suffering.

The whispers.

The isolation.

The curses.

The loneliness.
