Hearing Ivy's biting remark, Alaric slowly turned to stare at her.
Her delicate, fair face was tense, her cheeks flushed, and her full lips looked incredibly tempting.
He had fully intended to reprimand her, but right now, it was as if a spell had been cast over his mind. All he could think about was how proactive she had been that night.
He could almost physically remember the taste of those soft, sweet lips—an addictive sensation he craved more of.
Alaric quickly realized he needed to stop thinking about it.
If he kept dwelling on it, his body was going to have a very obvious reaction.
He forced his gaze away and deliberately leaned into her sarcasm.
"If you want her to have the master bedroom, I can certainly make that happen."
Ivy felt a suffocating wave of pain wash over her chest. The sheer agony and jealousy made it hard for her to even draw breath.
Unable to hold back, she whipped her head around to glare at him, grinding her teeth.
"Alaric Foster, you are a scumbag. You're an old jerk. I'm never stepping foot in that room again."
Still absolutely furious, Ivy turned to Leo in the front seat.
"Leo, pull the car over. I'm getting out. I refuse to share the same air as this man."
Leo was stunned.
Cold sweat beaded on his forehead.
Oh my God!
Mrs. Foster was incredibly brave.
She actually dared to curse at the boss like that.
Did she have a death wish?
A chill ran down Leo's spine as he checked the rearview mirror to gauge his boss's reaction.
Alaric appeared remarkably calm. His thin lips were pressed tightly together, his sharp, chiseled features betraying absolutely zero emotion.
But the temperature in the car seemed to plummet below freezing. It was terrifyingly cold.
Leo finally pulled the car over to the curb.
Ivy stepped out, but before she slammed the door, she shot Alaric a vicious glare.
"If you actually sleep with Elena, we're getting a divorce. Because that is just repulsive."
With that, she slammed the door as hard as she could and stormed off in a huff.
Alaric sat in silence.
Watching her retreating figure, he let out a dark, mocking laugh in his head.
Since when had his temper gotten this good?
