Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 91

Ivy Sawyer felt like Summer Vance had only come to work at Metropolitan General to make her life miserable.

Summer barely did any actual work, always popping up to flaunt her superiority whenever Ivy was around.

Without even looking at her, Ivy said coldly,

"Watch your mouth, or I can sue you for defamation."

Summer glared fiercely at her.

She wanted to argue back, but the memory of Alaric's stern warning at Foster Manor instantly deflated her confidence.

Her grandmother, Eleanor, already had a poor impression of her now.

If she got into another public dispute and the family found out, Alaric wouldn't let her off the hook.

Even her own parents would probably reprimand her.

Shooting Ivy a frosty glare, Summer wisely grabbed her phone and stormed off.

But she still seethed with indignation.

Who did Ivy think she was?

Why did Patrick Sterling love her, and why did Ethan harbor feelings for her too?

What was so attractive about a gold-digger who resorted to marrying an older man just to be a stepmother to someone else's kid?

Summer forwarded the video of Ethan's conversation with Ivy to Patrick.

She then demanded that Patrick deliver lunch and flowers to her at noon.

Patrick had recently crawled his way back into the Foster Group.

However, he was stuck at the very bottom as a lowly sales rep.

He despised the job; the pathetic salary wasn't nearly enough to survive in such an expensive metropolis.

Furthermore, Summer was incredibly volatile. When she was in a good mood, she threw money at him, but when she was upset, she hurled insults and completely trampled on his dignity.

Thinking back to his time with Ivy, Patrick was drowning in regret.

Mostly just to catch a glimpse of Ivy, he agreed to drop off Summer's lunch.

At noon, Ivy was on shift.

She had to wait for her colleagues to return from their lunch break before she could grab a bite.

Sitting alone at the nurses' station, she organized a messy stack of medical files.

Suddenly, a familiar voice drifted down from above.

Now she had finally crawled out of that darkness, and her life was slowly getting back on track.

Even if Mr. Foster despised her, he still provided her with a roof over her head, food on the table, and a generous allowance.

He didn't even lay a finger on her.

What woman wouldn't kill for a setup like that?

She would have to be completely out of her mind to throw away her future for a man who had already abandoned her for wealth and status.

She wasn't an idiot.

Ivy didn't want to waste another breath on him.

Patrick grew frantic, terrified that Summer would walk in at any second.

"Ivy, just come back and marry me. I'll give you anything you want, okay?"

It was only after dealing with Summer that Patrick realized how incredible Ivy truly was.

She was gentle, considerate, empathetic, and incredibly hardworking.

She was exactly the kind of woman a man wanted to build a life with.
