"All right, I’m going to take a shower."
Chloe Sinclair decided to stop teasing Jasper Shaw, grabbed a change of clothes, and went into the bathroom.
Before Jasper Shaw could react, the bathroom door clicked shut.
Rubbing his nose, Jasper Shaw felt uncharacteristically awkward.
Half an hour later, Chloe Sinclair realized she had forgotten her clothes. But at that moment, Jasper Shaw was in the middle of a remote meeting.
So, she poked her head out of the bathroom, unsure how to get his attention.
Just then, Jasper Shaw glanced toward the head peeking out of the bathroom. He paused mid-sentence, turned to her, and asked, "What’s wrong?"
Chloe Sinclair hesitated for a moment, then mouthed the word "clothes."
Fortunately, Jasper Shaw knew Chloe Sinclair well enough. He stood up from the sofa and immediately spotted the shirt she had dropped beside it.
He said to the others on the call, "I’ll be back in a minute."
With that, he stepped around the coffee table and picked up the clothes.
"You little scatterbrain."
Chloe Sinclair’s face flushed beet red. She snatched the clothes and slammed the bathroom door shut with another CLICK.
Seeing this, Jasper Shaw’s lips curved into a smug smile.
Returning to the sofa, he looked at the group on the video call, who were all deathly silent, and said, "Sorry about that. My fiancée needed me to grab something for her. Let’s continue the meeting."
The employees: "..." ’We didn’t ask you!’
However, the ways of an older man were simply beyond their comprehension.
But surprisingly, in the Shaw Group’s company chat, people were already frantically discussing the incident.
[Holy shit, our team lead was just in that video conference, and you’ll NEVER guess what they saw!]
[What?]
[The boss worked overtime all night yesterday, then left first thing this morning—not for a business trip, but to be with his fiancée.]
