He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 100

A second later, he dropped to his knees before her.

Her fingers instinctively clamped down on the jagged ceramic. "Nelson!!"

The edges bit violently into her skin. She was certain her palm was about to bleed.

Nelson was like a lunatic, completely ruthless in his execution.

Every single one of Juniper's senses went into overdrive, short-circuiting her brain. Even as she desperately tried to anchor herself to the sharp pain in her hand to stay conscious, the absolute reality of what he was doing shattered her remaining sanity.

She twisted her head toward the mirror, entirely unable to comprehend the expression on her own face.

The floor was littered with shattered porcelain, the deadliest piece gripped tightly in her hand. Nelson was subjecting her to the ultimate act of possessive violation—deeply intimate, yet entirely weaponized. She hated him so much in that moment that she wanted to drive the shard through his skull, or slice his throat open.

But if he feared for his life, he never would have put the weapon in her hand to begin with.

Juniper was pushed to the absolute brink of a psychological breakdown.

Yet Nelson drank her in as if he were a dying man in the desert who had finally found water.

The sharp clatter of the ceramic hitting the floor echoed in the small space. Her hands abandoned the weapon, gripping the edge of the marble sink so hard her knuckles turned white, her eyes squeezed shut, refusing to look anywhere.

The tension in the room was so thick that every sound felt deafening.

Nelson finally looked up, his gaze locking onto her tear-filled, devastated eyes.

His stare was predatory, dripping with the sick satisfaction of complete domination.

A long time passed—so long that the knocking on the bathroom door escalated into heavy pounding.

Juniper remained slumped against the edge of the vanity, resting against the mirror like a fragile leaf entirely at the mercy of the wind.

*Bang! Bang! Bang!*

The knocking was relentless. Julian's worried voice filtered through. "Nelson, are you in there?"

It wasn't just Julian. Alistair was out there, too.

The door was deadbolted. No one outside had any idea what was happening inside.

Julian rubbed the back of his neck nervously. It was only after Alistair had rushed out of the adjacent private room that Julian realized Juniper was on a date with someone else.
