It was Yvette Walsh.

She wore a light trench coat and carried an upscale fruit basket.

Spotting Stella Quinn, Yvette immediately walked over, calling out softly, "Stella!"

Stella was a little surprised. "Yvette, what brings you here?"

"Just came to see you."

Yvette offered the fruit basket to Stella. Her gaze flicked to Sebastian Huxley standing nearby, and she hesitated, as if swallowing back her words.

Sebastian and Jarrod had met in college. Since they didn't grow up together, Sebastian had never met Yvette and had no idea who she was.

Seeing that Yvette had something private to say, he tactfully turned to Stella. "Stella, I'll wait for you in the car."

Stella nodded, gently pushing back Yvette's gift. "Keep it for yourself. I'm allergic to a lot of things, so it'd be wasted on me."

But Yvette insisted, pressing it into her hands. She urged her to share it with the staff, claiming it wouldn't make sense to take back something she'd bought as a gift.

Unable to decline, Stella accepted it and asked if Yvette wanted to head up to her office for a bit.

Yvette shook her head. "Stella, I just have a few things to say, then I'll leave."

"I came specifically to apologize. You haven't been home for the past two days, and I know you and Jarrod are having problems because of me. My husband is no longer in Royal Oaks, so I've checked into a hotel."

Yvette's eyes rimmed with red. "It's all my fault. If I hadn't caused such a scene, I wouldn't have driven a wedge between you and your husband."

Looking at Yvette's guilt-ridden expression, Stella decided to be blunt. "Yvette, it has nothing to do with you. This is an issue between Jarrod and me. We were planning to divorce anyway and already filed the initial paperwork. We only missed the finalization because of his injury."

Yvette froze, looking as if she had never heard this before.
