I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 395

"Garrett, it's not what you think..."

Zoe felt a desperate need to clear her name.

"My wife hasn't spent much time with you, Garrett. There are plenty of her hobbies you don't know about. If you're curious, we can have a chat sometime."

Hayden's voice drifted from behind Garrett, dripping with dark malice.

The moment Zoe saw him, she instinctively took a step back. Garrett reacted just as fast, shifting to shield Zoe behind him.

They both looked at him like he was a dangerous predator. Hayden's eyes flashed, his handsome face twisting into something terrifying.

"Your wife?"

Garrett repeated the word with heavy sarcasm. It was almost laughable that Hayden was referring to him so casually.

"Let's go, Garrett."

Zoe didn't have the energy for Hayden.

He had signed the divorce papers, yet he was still calling her his wife?

The man's thought process was truly baffling.

"Legally, we are still married. And you're leaving with him?"

Instead of stopping them, Hayden casually took a seat on the leather sofa. He poured himself half a glass of liquor, took a slow sip, and set it down.

He slammed the glass onto the table. The deafening music surrounding them cut out instantly, plunging the lively bar into dead silence.

Zoe froze. Had this lunatic called the cops again?

"Don't try to scare me with the law, Mr. Thorne. Technically, we are separated. Who I leave with has nothing to do with you."

Zoe found him utterly insufferable.

Hayden refused to back down. "Mr. Kendall, are you aware that interfering with a federal officer's marriage can lead to a severe lawsuit?"

The threat hit Zoe like a bombshell, making her flinch.

She knew Hayden was shameless, but she never imagined he would stoop this low.

Garrett calmly reached back and took Zoe's hand. Meeting Hayden's volatile gaze with total composure, he replied, "Mr. Thorne, Zoe is now under the Kendall family's protection. She's like a sister to me. I heard my 'brother-in-law' was suffering from erectile dysfunction, so I brought her here to relieve some stress.

After all, some ugly family secrets need to be kept quiet. But since her husband clearly has no shame, I have no obligation to cover for him.

If you think this counts as interfering with your marriage, be my guest and sue. Zoe and I are completely platonic. If you want to throw false accusations around, the Kendall family is ready for a fight."

His white shirt was so stained with blood it looked like a crime scene.

"Good god, Hayden, how many people did you murder in my bar? This isn't Southeast Asiaβ€”"

The manager, seeing the owner arrive, finally gathered the courage to step forward and explain what happened.

Quentin grabbed his medical kit from the car and began bandaging the heavily intoxicated Hayden. Meanwhile, Ethan Montgomery, who arrived late and assumed Hayden had been attacked, watched in shock.

"Relax, it's his own blood," Quentin assured them.

Ethan frowned, casually tossing out a joke.

"What, did he get cucked and decide to self-mutilate?"

Quentin and Ian snapped their heads toward Ethan simultaneously. Ethan looked at the manager, confused.

It was just a joke.

Before he could explain, the manager spoke up.

"Mrs. Thorne came in for drinks with Ms. Fox. Mr. Kendall took Ms. Fox away, and then another man showed up and tried to take Mrs. Thorne."
