“Then we’ll make the exchange.”
Felix’s brows drew together sharply.
He turned to Aaron in surprise.
“You’re serious?”
“Evan is her brother. What could he possibly do to her? Even if Yara returns to him, it’ll only be temporary.”
Evan might not trust Aaron, but Aaron trusted Evan completely.
He was certain Evan would never put Yara in danger.
So he agreed to the exchange.
“As long as you’ve thought it through,” Felix said.
When it came to love, people often became trapped by their own assumptions.
But in the end, everyone had to come to their senses on their own.
Thinking about what Aaron intended to do next, Felix’s gaze grew unreadable.
…
Aaron had never truly intended to exchange Yara for Stella.
But Evan had taken precautions, leaving Aaron no choice but to bring Yara to Desert Ridge.
The terrain there was complicated.
Clearly, Evan had researched the area before coming to Eirden.
“Evan!”
The moment Yara saw him, her face turned deathly pale.
Evan’s gaze remained fixed on Aaron.
“Stella, come here,” Aaron ordered sharply.
Stella closed her eyes.
A moment later, she stepped toward him.
But before she could take more than one step, Evan grabbed her arm.
“Let Yara come over first.”
“Why should everything happen on your terms?” Aaron demanded.
“This is your territory,” Evan said. “You don’t have to worry about me taking her and escaping.”
Evan was the one who had every reason to worry.
Aaron gave a cold laugh.
