My CEO HUSBAND sign the divorce novel Chapter 273

Chapter 273: Angela Blackwood

"What is it?" Angela snapped.

She was already losing her patience. Karen had been working as Alexander’s assistant for almost a year, yet she still hadn’t managed to make him forget Alicia and fall in love with her instead.

"Alexander’s wife’s name is Alicia Sinclair, right?"

"Yes. Why are you asking?" Angela replied without thinking much of it.

"And she was pregnant when she left?"

Karen was only trying to confirm her suspicions, even though she had already heard the truth from Alexander’s phone call.

"Why are you asking me all these questions?"

"Just answer me," Karen said, also beginning to lose her patience.

Angela was taken aback by Karen’s tune but decided to let it slide.

"Yes, she was. Now tell me what happened."

Karen remained silent for a moment before finally speaking.

"I thought you said you were certain she wouldn’t survive on her own because she had no one."

"Then why is she here in Rosewood Town?"

Angela’s voice immediately turned urgent.

"What do you mean she’s in Rosewood Town?"

She already knew Alexander and Karen were currently there.

Her heart immediately began racing as countless thoughts flashed through her mind.

"Did Alexander see her?"

"What happened? Tell me everything."

Angela’s voice grew increasingly impatient.

"What happened..."

Karen paused before continuing.

"...is that Alexander has reunited with both his wife and his daughter."

"What?"

Angela exclaimed in panic.

"Yes."

"And he’s planning to return to Velaridge City with them."

"But... how could that happen?"

Angela stammered.

"How am I supposed to know?" Karen snapped.

"What you should be worrying about right now is what you’re going to do about me."

"Karen... is that really you?"

Angela asked in confusion.

"Why are you speaking to me like this?"

When she first met Karen abroad, she had seemed well-behaved, polite, and came from one of the prestigious families in Velaridge City.

That was precisely why Angela had decided to set her up with Alexander.

But the Karen she was hearing now...

Was nothing like the one she had met a year ago.

The Karen who had never dared speak back to her was now raising her voice and speaking so rudely.

"Karen, I only said I’d help set you up with Alexander."

"I never promised that he’d fall in love with you."

"Especially now that he’s found Alicia."

Angela herself didn’t know whether she should be happy or worried about Alicia’s return.

The truth was...

She had always disliked Alicia.

Especially because of her father, Johann Sinclair.

She had always believed that both father and daughter were only after the Blackwood family’s wealth.

But after Roseline Blackwood’s death and Alicia’s disappearance...

She had witnessed how much Alexander suffered.

She watched him become colder.

More withdrawn.

That was why she had eventually decided to find someone else for him.

Knowing Alexander would never willingly agree to be with another woman, she arranged for Karen to become his assistant immediately after Jane resigned.

She had hoped that giving Karen the opportunity to stay close to Alexander would eventually change his heart.

But even after an entire year...

Nothing changed.

Alexander continued searching for Alicia while completely ignoring Karen.

Now...

Alicia had been found.

And she had returned with a daughter.

Angela had no idea what would happen next.

Karen suddenly let out a hollow laugh.

"So..."

"You’re trying to abandon me now?"

After freshening up, I headed downstairs and found Uncle Herbert, Aunt Margaret, and Aunt Veronica sitting in the living room.

They were clearly discussing something.

The moment they noticed me walking toward them, however, the conversation came to an abrupt stop.

My brows furrowed slightly, but I chose not to ask.

"Good morning, Uncle. Good morning, Aunt."

"Good morning," they replied almost at the same time.

Aunt Veronica immediately stood up.

"You must be hungry. Come on, let’s get you something to eat."

I nodded and followed her into the kitchen.

Everyone had already finished breakfast, so she warmed up the portion they had left for me while I took a seat at the dining table.

"Why didn’t you wake me up, Aunt?" I asked as I began eating.

She smiled.

"How could I? We all know how exhausted you’ve been these past few days."

I smiled faintly.

She wasn’t wrong.

The entire partnership process with Blackwood Dominion had been mentally exhausting, and now that it was finally over, all the fatigue I had been suppressing seemed to hit me at once.

"What about Aimy?"

Normally, she would have been the first person to wake me up.

No wonder I was surprised she hadn’t barged into my room this morning.

"She’s in the garden with Anna," Aunt Veronica replied. "They’re plucking flowers together."

I chuckled softly.

"No wonder."

One of Aimy’s favorite places was the garden.

She could spend hours there without getting bored.

I used to wonder where she got that love for flowers until Aunt Margaret told me my mother had been exactly the same.

"Aunt, you can go ahead. I’ll join you once I’m done eating."

Instead of leaving, Aunt Veronica simply sat there watching me quietly.

I frowned slightly.

"Weren’t you all discussing something important?"

Her smile faltered for the briefest moment.

"It’s nothing you need to worry about."

"Just finish your breakfast, then we’ll join Anna and Aimy in the garden."
