"Mrs. Langford, your lip color is gorgeous. What shade is that?"
Elaine smiled as she held her teacup, her tone perfectly friendly without being overbearing.
She had noticed Seraphina seemed a bit reserved and thought she'd break the ice with a topic most women enjoyed.
Seraphina offered a polite smile. "I'm actually not wearing any."
"You aren't?"
"We were in a rush, so I only put on moisturizer."
"Now I'm just jealous," Elaine said, setting her cup down with an exaggeratedly serious look. "I was planning to buy a tube for myself, and you're telling me it's all natural."
Seraphina chuckled. "You're very sweet."
"I mean it." Elaine studied her face. "With that radiant complexion, you don't look like someone who just had a baby at all."
Philip laughed from the side. "You still look pretty good yourself."
Elaine shot him a look. "Save the sweet-talking for your clients, Philip. I'm not buying it."
Philip rubbed his nose sheepishly. "See that, Mr. Langford? That's my status at home."
Lucian calmly picked up his teacup. "At least you still get a chance to speak."
Seraphina glanced up at him, barely able to suppress her smile.
Elaine immediately caught on. "It seems Mrs. Langford keeps a tight ship."
Lucian looked at Seraphina. "Her willingness to manage me is my greatest blessing."
Seraphina gently bumped his hand under the table.
Lucian flipped his hand over to interlock his fingers with hers.
Noticing the subtle exchange, a flash of genuine envy appeared in Elaine's eyes. "You two have such a wonderful relationship."
Seraphina tried to pull her hand back, but he held fast, forcing her to cover the awkwardness with a smile.
Elaine naturally steered the conversation back. "By the way, what's your skincare routine? My complexion has been so dull the last couple of years. I've switched products multiple times, but nothing seems to help."
Seraphina looked at her closely. "Before you buy any more creams, how have you been sleeping lately?"
Elaine blinked in surprise. "You can tell?"
"The shadows under your eyes are heavy, and the corners of your lips are dry. It looks like more than just a surface-level skin issue."
Elaine set down her fork. "I keep waking up in the middle of the night. The doctor says it's stress and told me to relax, but that's easier said than done."
Philip immediately turned to her. "Why didn't you tell me?"
