My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 484

Zelda let out a nasty laugh. "She deserves it. That's what happens when you try to climb the social ladder."

Lucian placed his hand over Seraphina's, giving it a gentle squeeze. He leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Want to head back tonight so I can prove them wrong?"

Seraphina shot him a frustrated glare, bumping his shoulder. Saying something like that in front of their guests? Was he out of his mind?

She glared at him, her cheeks flushed with indignation.

Although Philip couldn't hear what Lucian and Seraphina were whispering about, he cast them a meaningful look before tactfully turning his attention elsewhere.

Elaine frowned in disgust. "How can people say such vile things in public?"

Philip's expression darkened. "Waiter."

From the hallway, the waiter's stern but polite warning drifted in. "Ladies, please keep your voices down. You are disturbing the guests in the private rooms."

Sienna raised her voice even louder. "Do you know who I am? I'm a paying customer here. What right do you have to kick me out?"

Zelda pulled at her arm. "Sienna, let's just go."

"Mom, why are you pulling me? Who does Seraphina think she is anyway?"

"Shut up."

Their footsteps finally faded away, and the corridor fell silent once more.

Elaine looked over at Seraphina with concern. "Are you alright, Mrs. Langford?"

Seraphina calmly picked up her chopsticks again. "Let's eat."

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"What they say is ugly, but it doesn't affect how I live my life."

Elaine stared at her for a long moment before a smile broke across her face. "I like your attitude."

Seraphina glanced down and realized she had completely mangled the fish on her plate with her chopsticks without realizing it.

It must have been her nervous reaction to Lucian's shameless comment earlier...

Lucian leaned in again, his voice dropping low. "You don't have to eat it if you don't want to."

Seraphina looked up at him. "Why wouldn't I?"

"I thought you might be too disgusted."

"They are the ones who are disgusting," Seraphina replied flatly, popping a piece of fish into her mouth. "I'm not going to waste perfectly good food over them."

Philip paused midway through raising his teacup, then let out a laugh. "Well said, Mrs. Langford."
