My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 490

Philip opened his mouth, but no words came out.

"During her very first dance recital, she was crying in the dressing room looking for her dad. Your secretary told me you were in a crucial meeting, but you were actually booked into a hotel room a block away."

"Honey, that's in the past."

"The past doesn't just magically disappear."

Philip shrank back, his shoulders practically collapsing in on themselves.

"Philip, I tried to give you an elegant way out, but you completely destroyed it."

Having lost his wife's support, Philip turned to Lucian, his voice cracked and desperate.

"Mr. Langford, you're a man. You know how it is. Sometimes a guy just plays around a little bit. It doesn't actually mean anything."

Seraphina let out an incredulous laugh, pressing a hand lightly against Lucian's shoulder.

Lucian turned to look at her. "Want to say something?"

Seraphina fixed Philip with a lethal stare. "Don't drag all men down into the mud with you. You're the only filthy one here."

Christian turned his head and offered a polite, muffled cough.

Lucian's lips twitched upward for a fraction of a second before flattening back into a hard line.

Philip's face flushed an ugly shade of purple. "Mrs. Langford, do you really have to push me off the ledge?"

"You jumped off it yourself."

Seraphina calmly adjusted the towel around her shoulders. "When you said those vile things to me, you didn't leave your wife any dignity, and you certainly didn't leave yourself an escape route."

Elaine looked at her, her eyes rimmed with red. "Mrs. Langford, I owe you a formal apology for everything that happened today."

"You don't need to apologize for his mistakes."

Elaine stood up straight. "I brought him into this circle, so I must take responsibility for the embarrassment he caused. The Zacharias Group will ensure a perfectly clean handover of all project details. We will pay every penalty and settle every account."

Seeing Elaine's absolute professionalism, Lucian finally spoke. "The Zacharias Group can remain on the project. But Philip is out."

Philip's head snapped up in shock.

Elaine was equally surprised. "You mean...?"

"The Langford Group will negotiate directly with The Zacharias Group. We don't need him playing middleman."

Elaine cast one last glance at Philip, her eyes hardening with resolve. "Understood. I'll have my legal team bring the revised documents to Langford headquarters tomorrow."

Philip scrambled to get up, but Christian clapped a heavy hand onto his shoulder, pinning him in place.

"Mr. Yates, let's keep calm."

"Christian, get your hands off me!"
