My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 491

Lucian looked at her and explained, "The situation was urgent."

"Urgent or not, you can't joke around with your legs."

"I didn't put much weight on them."

"Are you talking back to me?"

Lucian fell silent, his gaze shifting toward Christian.

Christian immediately dragged Philip Yates around the corner, pretending not to hear his boss getting scolded.

Seraphina pushed the wheelchair closer and pressed down on Lucian's shoulders. "Sit."

Lucian sat back down, his tone softening. "Whatever you say."

"Don't ever do that again."

"Alright."

"Your rehab hasn't reached that stage yet. No acting tough."

"Okay."

"And Christian isn't allowed to help you hide things from me either."

Christian glanced back. "Don't worry, Mrs. Langford. I'm on your side."

Lucian looked up.

Christian hastily added, "Though I take Mr. Langford's orders at work."

The corners of Seraphina's lips had barely twitched when Philip's agonized scream echoed from around the corner.

She tilted her head. "Did Christian hit him?"

Lucian gently turned her face back toward him. "Didn't I tell you not to look?"

"I just want to take a peek."

"No."

"I'm a mother now. Why can't I look?"

Lucian gave her hand a light squeeze. "Being a mother doesn't stop me from protecting you."

Seraphina's ears grew hot, but she refused to yield verbally. "Give me a break. You just stood up recklessly a minute ago."

"Then you can punish me."

"How?"

"When we go home tonight, you're the boss."

Seraphina shot him a wary look. "Stop phrasing things so weirdly."

Lucian chuckled softly. "What did I say?"

"You know exactly what."

Seraphina couldn't stay mad when he put on such a serious facade. She simply pushed his wheelchair toward the exit.

"Let's go home."

"Missing Little Bean?"

"Yeah. We've been out for so long. He should be awake by now."
