Visions-2

“It is the power of the bond. She is grounding you and giving you strength,” Stinger said, satisfied from within his mind. “It will become even stronger once we complete the mating process.”

Kaia stood by Markus, her presence calming yet empowering him. Her touch was like a balm to his

frayed nerves. Azriel and the others in the room watched the exchange, sensing the profound

connection between the two.

Kaia cleared her voice as she asked, “What is the plan?”

Markus replied, “I mobilized the armies at the border, including some royal special teams from my

Praetorian Guard, to gather intelligence on the vampire activity. As for the outbreak…” his face

darkened. “Two more packs have reported a significant number of sick wolves, including

casualties. The situation is dire. We’ve ordered containment and quarantine, but so far, we’ve been

unsuccessful in finding a cure.”

“What are the next steps?” Kaia pressed, her tone unwavering.

Markus took a deep breath. Before he could respond, Azriel interjected, “We haven’t spoken to

Lora yet.”

Kaia’s brows furrowed in surprise. “Why not?”

Azriel looked uncomfortable. “When I tried to speak with her today, she wasn’t feeling well. She

was weak and dizzy, so I didn’t push it.”

“She has the right to know, big brother,” Kaia insisted.

Azriel shook his head. “I won’t put her at risk, especially if she’s sick.”

“That should be her decision,” Kaia said firmly. “I will speak with her.”

Leaving the office, she leaves behind a bewildered Azriel and Markus. Azriel turned to Markus,

conflicted. “What did you do to my sister? She’s not usually this commanding.”

Markus shrugged, “I didn’t do anything in particular. I suspect the marking might have changed her

a… bit?”

Meanwhile, Kaia made her way to her brother’s villa, At the entrance, she knocked, and soon the door opened to reveal a smiling face. A bundle of joy jumped into her arms. “Aunt Kaia!”

Kaia smiled warmly at her nephew, Asher, kissing his forehead. “Hello little wolf! Where is your

mother?”

Asher pouted, “Mommy is sick, has the flu, and is in her bedroom.”

Kaia nodded, making her way inside. Following her senses, she reached the bedroom door and knocked gently. A weak voice from inside invited her in. Opening the door, she found Lora looking

pale and bedridden.

Concern etched on her face, Kaia approached, “Hey Lora, how are you feeling? What happened?!”

Lora managed a weak smile. “Kaia! Congratulations! I am so happy for you.”

Kaia smiled back warmly. “Thank you. Now, tell me what’s going on and how I can help.”

Lora sighed. “I think it’s the flu. I feel weak, sleepy, and exhausted.”

Kaia hummed thoughtfully. “And what about your wolf?”

Lora’s smile was bittersweet. “Tara is a treasure, but she’s been unusually quiet and withdrawn for a few days now. I can feel her there, but she is not very talkative.”

Kaia touched Lora’s hand as a support gesture, but suddenly, a flash of images overwhelmed her, leaving her frozen in place. Lora, noticing Kaia’s sudden stillness, asked, “Kaia, are you okay?”

Kaia remained in a trance, internally asking her wolf, “Sierra, what’s happening? What was that?”

Sierra paced agitated in her mind. “If I didn’t know better, I’d say we started to have visions.”

Kaia’s mind raced as the vision played out. She saw Lora, not suffering from the flu but showing a pregnant stomach. The realization hit her hard. She needed to confirm this before she could say

anything.

Taking Lora’s hands into hers, she asked, “Lora, can I ask you something?”

“Sure,” Lora replied, curiosity in her eyes.

Kaia took a deep breath. “Are you pregnant?”

For a moment, Lora froze, a look of confusion and disbelief on her face. Then she shook her head.

“I don’t think so. I can’t feel anything out of the ordinary, and Tara would have told me if I was.”

Kaia nodded thoughtfully. “Still, please humor me and take a pregnancy test. Do you have one?”

Lora shook her head again. “Not here, but there should be some at the clinic. I’ll ask Mary to bring

one.”

Kaia squeezed Lora’s hand. “Maybe get two, just to be sure.”

After a quick mind link from Lora, Mary soon appeared with two pregnancy tests hidden in a brown

paper bag. Kaia gently pushed Lora towards the bathroom. “Go on, take the tests. We’ll wait here.”

As Lora disappeared into the bathroom, Mary turned to Kaia, her eyes filled with curiosity. “Why do

you think Lora is pregnant? She is a doctor, and definitely she would have figured it out first if that

was the case.”

Kaia hesitated for a moment before replying, “It’s just a… hunch.”

The minutes that followed felt agonizingly long. Finally, the bathroom door creaked open, and Lora stepped out, looking pale and shaky. She sat down on the bed, clutching the tests.

Mary and Kaia rushed to her side. “What’s the result?” they asked in unison.

With a trembling hand, Lora showed them the tests. Both displayed faint pink lines.

Mary squealed with delight. “Congratulations, Lora! You’re pregnant!”
