The Dark Lycans-2

Kaia’s eyes widened. “So, what happened?”

“A coalition was formed,” Markus continued. “We used tactics that we aren’t proud of to eradicate every one of them, including females and their offspring.”

“Oh, Goddess,” Kaia whispered, horrified.

“It was a full massacre,” Markus admitted grimly. “But we didn’t have any choice. By that point, the Dark Lycans had already started enslaving werewolves and vampires, forcing them to wear collars and stripping them of their dignity. The humans who fell in their hands as well were treated worse than garbage, as disposable. r***s and abuse were very common, as the Dark Lycans were well known for their cruelty.”

Kaia shuddered at the thought. “That’s terrifying.”

“It was,” Markus agreed. “The previous kings did what they had to do to ensure our survival, especially in keeping our secret from humans. The Dark Lycans were too dangerous, too powerful, and too ruthless. They left us no choice. We tried to reason with them, but their philosophy was that they were at the top of the food chain and all of us, the other species, were under them.”

Kaia’s mind raced with the gravity of what Markus had shared. The history of the Dark Lycans was more horrifying than she had ever imagined. The thought of their return sent chills down her spine. “Do you think that they survived and that they could come back?”

Markus looked out of the helicopter window; his expression troubled. “I don’t know. But if they are behind this pandemic, it means they have found a way to survive and regain their strength. And that makes them an even greater threat. We are in grave danger, greater than I imagined.”

Kaia took a deep breath, steeling herself. “We have to be ready for whatever comes.”

Markus nodded. “We will be. We’ll gather our allies, fortify our defenses, and protect our people at

all costs.”

As the helicopter approached their destination, Kaia felt a renewed sense of determination. The Dark Lycans were a formidable and scary enemy, but with Markus by her side and the strength of their packs behind them, she knew they would face this threat head-on.

The helicopter landed, and they stepped out, greeted by the hustle and bustle of the pack preparing for the challenges ahead. Markus took Kaia’s hand, squeezing it reassuringly. “We’ll get through this together,” he said.

Kaia nodded, her resolve firm. “Together,” she echoed.

As they walked towards the pack house, Kaia couldn’t help but glance at Markus, her heart swelling with a mix of love and admiration. But also, a shiver passed her spine at the same time, recalling the vision she had when she touched Layzal: the blood, the destructions, the dead ones. She just prayed to the Moon Goddess to protect them and guide their steps.

After they landed, as Markus and Kaia entered the pack house, the late evening shadows cast a somber tone over the room. Lora and Azriel were still there, their faces a mix of concern and

anticipation. Azriel’s eyes immediately fixed on Markus, sensing the gravity of the situation.

“How bad?” Azriel asked, his voice steady but edged with anxiety.

Markus let out a long breath before replying, “Really bad,” and sank into the couch in the Alpha’s office, closing his eyes for a moment. Kaia curled up next to him, hugging him tightly, offering, her strength and comfort.

After a few moments of gathering his thoughts, Markus began recounting what had transpired. He

detailed the meeting with Layzal, the vampire prince, and the alarming suspicions and gathered

evidence that pointed to the resurgence of the Dark Lycans, how the vampires were infected as

well, and battling with the pandemic. Lora sat frozen in shock, while Azriel paled slightly, despite

his effort to maintain a strong front.

When Markus finished, Azriel shook his head. “I never saw this coming. Are you sure they aren’t

trying to deceive us?”

Kaia spoke up, her voice trembling. “But I saw, brother. And it’s horrible.”

Azriel looked confused. Markus took Kaia’s hand in a comforting gesture. “Kaia is a Seer.”

Azriel’s eyes widened in shock. “How is that possible? She’s never shown any signs of it.”

To everyone’s surprise, Lora spoke up. “I remember from my studies that a Seer’s abilities can

manifest after being marked by a more powerful mate. It’s what they call latent abilities.”

Lora turned to Kaia. “What can you see? The past, the future?”

Kaia nodded, her voice still shaky. “I can see the future.”

Azriel whistled softly. “That’s a very powerful weapon, It should be kept a secret, little sis.”

Kaia nodded. “It’s very recent, and I have no control over it yet.”

Markus squeezed her hand. “You have time to figure it out.”

There was a moment of silence, filled with the weight of their new reality. Lora squeezed Azriel’s hand. “I know we discussed this, and I will be cautious when healing. But if this is the reality, we are at war with an enemy far superior to us. We need all the strength we can get. We have no choice,

Azriel nodded grimly. “Markus, you know this. My mate is my priority.”

Markus nodded. “Regarding the healing, everything will happen at your pace. You and Lora decide

how you want to proceed. We are here to support you in any way we can.”

Azriel and Lora nodded, and then retreated to their villa for the night.

Markus turned to Kaia. “You should get some rest. I still need to brief the council members and my

trusted advisors.”

Kaia nodded and left the room. Once alone, Markus’s hands shook slightly as he connected the

call. His senses were on high alert. Stinger, his wolf, came forward in his mind.

“We will get over this,” Stinger said with conviction. “We will defeat those animals.”

Markus’s voice was slightly shaky as he replied, “I just hope so. They stayed hidden for so long, and

we don’t know what they’re hiding.”

With a heavy heart, Markus prepared to brief his council, knowing that the coming days would be crucial in determining their survival against this formidable enemy.
