The List-1

After a moment of pause, Tim decided to just spill out his findings.

“This person you asked me to check is placed on the official Terror List,” he replied in a grim voice.

Mary’s heart sank as she listened to Tim’s words. “The official werewolf’s terror list? Are you sure,

Tim?”

Tim’s voice held a note of seriousness. “Yes, Aunt Mary. I double-checked, and her name is

definitely on it.”

Mary’s mind raced with worry. “But how is that possible? She seemed like such a kind and gentle

soul…”

Tim interrupted gently. “I know it’s hard to believe, Aunt Mary, but sometimes appearances can be deceiving. I just want to make sure you’re not putting yourself in harm’s way. Some people can be deceptive, especially rogues.”

“What are the accusations brought against her?” Mary asked.

“It is mentioned that she tried to hurt the pack’s future Alpha by siding herself with the rogues and being deceptive. These are serious accusations, Aunt Mary,” Tim replied.

Mary sighed, feeling sadness. “Thank you for looking into it, Tim. I appreciate your concern.”

Tim’s voice softened. “Of course, Aunt Mary. Just be careful, okay? Maybe I should pay you a visit soon to make sure that you are OK, and please try to distance yourself from this rogue.”

“Timothy Kent, stop this nonsense. I know what I am doing, and I assure you that those accusations are just bullshit. It is just that my heart breaks for this poor girl and the bad luck she had. Did you succeed in getting copies of her birth certificate and her study diplomas?”

“Yes, I have the information,” Tim confirmed.

“Thanks Goddess then for this good news. Can you please send it to me?” Mary asked.

After a short break, Tim replied, “I will deliver it personally, and I want to meet the girl. I know you are not easy to fool, but I love you so much. After all the suffering our pack had because of the rogues, I need to do this, aunt. Let me know where I can find her.”

“She is living with me, Tim, so you can pass by this afternoon as it is my day off,” Marry replied.

“Aunt Mary! Are you serious? You took her home?” Tim shouted in panic.

Mary nodded, even though Tim couldn’t see her. “OK, Tim, I understand where you are coming

from. And thank you again. You’re a good nephew. See you this late afternoon and once you meet her you will realize that there are no reasons to be worried.”

As they ended the call, Mary couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that settled over her.

Mary’s heart ached with a mix of sorrow and anger as she contemplated the situation. The idea that her own pack would label Lora as a threat was incomprehensible to her. She couldn’t fathom how her sister, the owner of a white wolf no less, could stoop to such depths of deception and

betrayal.

As a white wolf, Elora’s twin sister held a position of honor and respect within the pack. White wolves were traditionally seen as symbols of purity and guardianship, tasked with upholding justice and protecting the innocent. The fact that Elora’s sister would betray these values was beyond Mary’s comprehension.

Feeling a surge of indignation, Mary clenched her fists, her thoughts consumed by disbelief and outrage. “How could you do this to your own flesh and blood?” she muttered aloud; her voice tinged with bitterness. The betrayal cut deep, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth.

Despite Tim’s warnings, she never doubted Lora’s words. She knew a threat and a rogue when she saw one, and this girl was at the opposite side of the spectrum.

As Mary prepared breakfast in the kitchen, Elora entered with a warm greeting, their morning routine becoming a comforting ritual. “Good morning, Mary,” Elora said, offering a small smile.

Returning the smile, Mary replied, “Good morning, Lora. How are you today? Any bad dreams?”

Elora’s smile faltered slightly as she admitted, “Just a few.”

Sensing Lora’s anticipation, Mary decided to share the news she had received. “I have some news for you regarding our discussion yesterday,” she said, motioning for her to take a seat at the table.
