Meeting Stephan-1

Upon arriving at their new destination, Lora and Azriel immediately set about their routine of

healing the infected. The process was exhausting but crucial, their powers and skills essential in

combating the spread of the infection. Once they finished, Azriel received a notification that

Markus wanted to brief them on the ongoing situation.

Gathering in their temporary quiet room, they connected the call. Markus’s grave figure appeared

on the screen, his expression reflecting the seriousness of the situation. “How are you both

holding up?” he asked, his voice tinged with concern. “I know it’s been tiring.”

“We’re managing,” Azriel replied, a weary smile on his face. “It’s exhausting, but we’re making

progress.”

Markus nodded, appreciation clear in his eyes. “Thank you for your efforts. I know that it is not easy to be away from your son and your pack responsibilities, especially now with the current threats. Thanks to you, the infections are contained, and despite new cases, the number of

affected packs is slowly decreasing.”

Azriel acknowledged the gratitude with a nod before shifting the conversation. “Are there any updates on our common enemies?”

Markus’s face grew more somber. “Yes. Along with Layzal, we’ve located where the Dark Lycans are hiding in Canada. We’re preparing a special team to confront them, but we are still awaiting some last details from our spies.”

Azriel’s expression mirrored the gravity of the situation. “Do we know how they’re spreading the

infection?”

Markus shook his head. “No, not yet.”

Lora, who had been listening intently, spoke up. “I might have a lead, though I’m not sure how relevant it is.” Both men turned their attention to her as she continued. “I’ve interviewed all the infected and looked for common factors. To my surprise, all the patients zero mentioned flirting with a beautiful woman in a pub or bar before falling ill,”

Markus leaned forward, his interest piqued. “How do you know it’s the same woman?”

“I asked them to describe her,” Lora explained. “Every single one of them described a very beautiful woman with flowing black hair and captivating blue eyes. But the strange part is that when I asked them if they could recall if she was a shifter, none of them knew for sure. Like their memories

became blurred.”

Markus’s eyes widened slightly, processing the information. “That’s a significant lead, Lora. If she’s

the one targeting the packs and the covens, we need to find her… fast.”

Azriel nodded in agreement.

Markus agreed, his expression resolute. “I’ll update Layzal and the others. We’ll put together a strategy to find and capture her. In the meantime, continue your efforts on the ground. Your work is crucial. And, thank you, Lora! Your help will never be forgotten and if anything, at any time, you require something, do not hesitate. You are family!”

As the call with Markus was wrapping up, Lora hesitated for a moment before speaking up.

“Markus, there’s something else I need to discuss with you,” she said, her voice serious. Markus

nodded, indicating she should continue.

Lora then recounted the entire story of Tim and Dana, from Dana’s tragic past to the recent /

developments with Stephan. Throughout the tale, Markus listened intently, his expression growing

more somber with each detail. When she finished, he remained silent, lost in thought.

“Wow,” he finally muttered, shaking his head slowly.

“Is there any way we could try to free Dana from Stephan’s clutches, considering that she is a

werewolf’s mate?” Lora asked, hope tinged with desperation in her voice.

Markus sighed, his face reflecting the weight of the situation. “I totally see your point of view, but the vampires have a very different way of doing things, and their rules are not easily bent. From what I can recall, Stephan is an old and influential vampire who wields a lot of power, especially as he is one of the Vampire King’s nephews. He’s not someone to be trifled with.”

“Can you discuss this with Layzal, to see if he can give us insight? You can tell him that we can accept this gesture as a payback for helping the covens with the infected,” Azriel suggested.
