The entire day, Lora felt a heavy pressure on her chest. Azriel reassured her repeatedly that he would support her no matter what decision she made, but despite his comforting words, she
couldn’t shake her concern. She decided to call out to Tara, her wolf.
“Tara,” Lora began hesitantly, “I need your opinion.”
Tara’s presence was calming. “I know how much you’ve been tormented, Lora. I’ve witnessed all the wrongs done by the Black Forest Pack, especially those inflicted by your sister, Alena. She chose power and pride over her own flesh and blood, allowing herself to be led by material things and greed.”
Lora sighed deeply. “I feel torn. I’m not heartless, but recalling the hate and the cruel treatment encountered in the Black Forest pack makes my skin crawl. It was like I chose by myself to get an omega wolf or to be mated with Alex. Despite everything, not a single person showed me kindness or understanding, not the Alpha and Luna, not my fated mate, not even my own parents who were supposed to love me unconditionally.”
Tara’s voice was gentle yet firm. “Whatever you decide, Lora, you have my full support. You can’t blame yourself for your reaction to their cruelty. My first reaction as a white wolf is to help, as this was my purpose given by the Moon Goddess, but at the same time, my loyalty is to you. Your suffering was too great, and you had to lose Lina in the process.”
Lora pondered Tara’s words throughout the day. As evening approached, she found herself standing outside Azriel’s office. Taking a deep breath, she entered, finding him immersed in pack business and the deals that had accumulated during their absence, despite James and Sky’s best efforts to keep everything in order. Azriel looked up from his desk, greeting her warmly with a kiss.
“Are you okay, my dove?” he asked, sensing her internal turmoil through their mate bond.
Lora took a seat, her eyes reflecting the storm within her. “I’ve made a decision, Azriel. I’m going to
help the Black Forest Pack.”
Azriel’s expression softened with understanding. “Are you sure, my dove? Lora, neither Markus nor
I would blame you if you decided otherwise. What happened to you… what this pack did to you…
is unforgivable.”
Lora shook her head. “Thinking about it, I realized that if I let my personal feelings prevent me from
helping people in need, I’d be no better than them. I trust the Goddess to punish them accordingly.”
Azriel hugged her tightly, his pride and love for her evident. “It’s an honor and a privilege to be
mated with someone so pure of heart like you, Lora. I’ll let Markus know so he can inform the Black Forest pack of our arrival.”

The next morning, the pack gathered once more for hopefully a final trip. Azriel made the necessary arrangements, and they set off for the Black Forest Pack. Lora’s heart was a mix of anger and confusion. She felt the pressure on her chest tighten with each passing mile, but Azriel’s presence beside her was a constant source of strength.
As they approached the Black Forest Pack territory, memories of her past there surged within her. She recalled the harsh words, the cruel attitude, and the constant feeling of isolation. But she also remembered Tara’s words and the importance of rising above her pain.
After several hours of traveling, they finally arrived at the Black Forest pack. Lora’s heart trembled, feeling as though it might burst from her chest. Azriel, sensing her turmoil, held her hand tightly. “I’m here for you,” he whispered, his voice steady and reassuring. “You’re calling the shots, and if at any time you want us to leave… just say the word.”
The convoy of cars rolled to a stop in front of the pack house. From behind the tinted windows, Lora could see the familiar figures of Alpha Ben and his son, Alex, with her parents standing behind them in their roles as the supporting Betas of the pack. For a moment, she felt weak, her hands trembling slightly. Azriel squeezed her hand in silent support, sending a mind link, “You got this. I got you. You are not the scared and bullied young teenager anymore, but an accomplished doctor, a respected Luna and you can handle huge powers such as the Goddess’s Gift and Omega’s Fury.”
As they exited the cars, making their way toward the entrance, the members of the Black Forest pack bowed in respect. The overall atmosphere was thick with despair. Alpha Ben stepped forward to greet them, his posture rigid and formal.
“Alpha Azriel,” he began, “it is a pleasure to have you here, despite your delay and detour-”
His words were cut short as he met Azriel’s steely gaze. The temperature seemed to drop, and a palpable chill spread through those gathered, a testament to Azriel’s formidable aura. “Alpha Ben,” Azriel greeted him, his tone icy, “this is my entourage. Once we are settled in our rooms, we will begin addressing the infection in your pack.”
Alpha Ben nodded, a hint of unease in his eyes, not expecting this hostile attitude. Before he could respond, his son, Alex, suddenly became agitated. With a wild expression, he shouted, “Mate!” and took a step forward, shocking everyone present.
A mountain of muscle called Azriel intercepted him, blocking his path. “You should restrain
yourself from such reactions towards MY mate and Luna,” Azriel growled, his voice carrying a
menacing edge.
Lora took a deep breath and stepped forward from behind Azriel, removing her sunglasses. “Good afternoon,” she greeted, her voice steady despite the storm raging inside her.

The reaction was immediate. Shock rippled through the gathered pack members. Alpha Ben ard’ his Luna, her parents, and especially Alex stood frozen, as if struck by lightning. Alex’s eyes widened in disbelief, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.
“Elora?” Alex whispered, his voice trembling. “Is it really you? You are … alive?”
Lora held her head high, refusing to let the memories of past cruelties overwhelm her. “Yes, it is me. But please address me as Lora Storm. Elora Black died many years ago in a frozen river.”
The reality of her presence began to sink in, breaking through the initial shock. Murmurs spread through the crowd, disbelief giving way to a wide wave of rumors. Her parents looked frozen like statues, blinking their eyes in disbelief.
Alpha Ben cleared his throat, regaining some composure. “Elora,” he said, his voice strained,/ “we…we didn’t expect…”
“It is Luna Lora Storm, MY precious mate!” Ariel shouted, annoyed in their direction, releasing his murderous aura. “So please refrain yourself from approaching her. Don’t make things unnecessarily difficult for everyone, especially considering her past with this pack. We are here just to do a job and once it is done, we will leave. Now, our rooms?”
Alpha Ben snapped from the shock and appointed them towards an omega who led them towards their rooms. Lora could feel Alex’s shock and his wolf struggling from the way his eyes were flashing and changing colors, while he was held back by this father and most probably his Head Warrior. She expected to feel something, maybe hate or something, but when she looked at Alex she felt nothing except disappointment and disdain. She deliberately avoided looking in the direction of her parents, realizing right then and there that Azriel was right, she was here just to complete a task and save werewolves lives. But for the rest, Elora was dead.
