Sacrifice-1
The shrill sound of alarms pierced the air, accompanied by the distant sounds of chaos and battle. The Black Forest Pack was under attack. Warriors rushed to their stations, while pack members hurried to the shelters. The tension was palpable, as the pack mobilized to defend their home.
Azriel emerged from the quarantined room, his expression stern and focused. He immediately sought out Alpha Ben and Beta Graham, who were directing the warriors.
“What’s happening?” Azriel demanded.
Alpha Ben’s face was grim. “We’re under attack. Waves of rogues are hitting our borders from the east and the west. It seems that it’s a coordinated strike.”
Azriel’s mind raced. “A planned attack,” he realized aloud.
“Exactly,” Alpha Ben confirmed. “We need to get to the front lines.”
Beta Graham, eyes wide with worry, turned to Azriel. “What about my wife? Did you finish healing
all the infected?”
Azriel clenched his fists, irritation flaring. “Yes, everyone is healed now, but your mate is refusing the healing, saying she deserves the punishment.”
“What?!” Beta Graham exclaimed, but Alpha Ben cut him off.
“We don’t have time for this discussion. Elora should go to the shelter with the rest of the
non-combatants.”
Azriel quickly mind linked Lora. “Lora, we’re under attack. Take your mother and go to a shelter. I need to fight to protect you, so I will be outside the clinic trying to keep these pests away. I’ll send Tim
and Dana for protection. Go, my love, and be safe.”
Lora’s response was firm. “Understood. Be careful, my love.”
The mind link ended, and Lora turned to her mother, who lay in the infirmary bed. “Let’s get this
over with. Let me heal you so we can go to the shelter.”
But Ava shook her head, her eyes filled with tears. “No, I don’t deserve it. This is the Moon Goddess’s punishment, and I will accept it. I was too blind, but now I see my mistakes.”
Lora’s frustration mounted. “Stop it. You know very well that we can’t leave this room without you being cured. You’ll infect everyone around you.”
Ava’s resolve did not waver. “Go, Elora. Leave me here. Save yourself!”

The sounds of battle grew louder, screams of panic and the clash of growls echoing through the halls. Lora’s heart pounded in her chest as she realized time was running out. Her mother’s stubbornness was putting them both at risk.
“Stop it, I can’t leave you here!” Lora’s voice cracked with desperation.
Ava’s eyes welled with tears. “Despite everything we did to you, your heart is still warm. was blind but this is my fate.”
Elora had just finished healing her mother when a crash echoed through the infirmary. The door burst open, and several rogues stormed in, their eyes gleaming with deadly intent. Elora’s heart
pounded in her chest. She tried to mind link Azriel, but to her despair, his connection was blocked.
Her mind raced as she assessed the precarious situation.
With her twin pregnancy, shifting and fighting were too risky. Panic surged through her as the rogues closed in, their snarls filling the room. Ava, despite her weakened state, shifted into her
Beta wolf form and stood protectively in front of Elora.
“We have to fight them off, Mother!” Lora shouted, her voice shaking with fear and determination,
as she tried to channel her Omega’s Fury, but she was just too drained.
Ava growled in agreement, baring her teeth. The first rogue lunged at them, and Ava met him head-on, her claws slashing through the air. Lora used whatever energy she had left to deflect attacks, but the rogues kept coming, their numbers increasing like a relentless tide.
Tim and Dana arrived, fighting valiantly, but the rogues were too many; why were there so many? Especially in the clinic?! Why were they not attacking the Pack House?! Elora felt her strength waning, her vision blurring from exhaustion and pain. A rogue’s claw raked across her arm, and she
cried out, staggering back.
