Late Night Visit-1

Azriel met his Beta’s gaze, his eyes filled with determination. “We need to move quickly and décisively. Layzal, the Vampire Prince, is mobilizing his resources to investigate the military contractors. Markus has ordered a thorough investigation into all known contractors to search for any connection to the Lycans.”

As the gravity of their situation began to settle in, James couldn’t help but voice the question that/ had been on his mind since the conversation started. His tone was respectful but tinged with

“How can we fight this, Azriel? The Lycans are already prepared and trained. They’ve been in hiding, gathering strength, and now they’re out in the open. With all due respect, what chance do

we have?”

urgency.

Azriel leaned back in his chair, his gaze contemplative. He didn’t take offense at James’s question; in fact, he welcomed it. They needed to confront the reality of their situation head-on. “No offense taken, James. You’re right to be concerned. We all know that Lycans are superior to us in many ways, physically stronger, faster, and some of them even have the ability to wield magic. They’ve had time to prepare while we were in the dark.”

The room was silent, the air thick with tension as the reality of their situation hung heavily in the air. Sky and Tim exchanged uneasy glances, both of them waiting for Azriel to continue. When he did, his voice was calm but carried a weight of urgency.

“But,” Azriel said, leaning forward with a hint of hope in his voice, “we’ve managed to discover a piece of crucial information, something that could potentially tip the scales in our favor. There is a werewolf bloodline that can wield something called Dispell Poems. These poems are not just words; they are powerful incantations, the only known weapon that can defeat any supernatural being, including Lycans.”

The three men in front of him exchanged hopeful looks. Tim was the first to speak, his voice brimming with renewed determination. “Then that’s perfect! Let’s find them and use the Dispell Poems against the Lycans. We’ll turn the tables on them!”

But Azriel’s expression remained somber. “I wish it were that simple, Tim. Unfortunately, there’s a significant complication.”

The air grew heavy with anticipation as James, Sky, and Tim waited for Azriel to explain further.

“Generations ago,” Azriel continued, “people discovered the power of this bloodline, and as is often the case, greed took over. Many tried to enslave, torture, and blackmail these people with these abilities, forcing them to use the Dispell Poems for their own benefit. Over time, this bloodline became a target for anyone seeking power, and as a result, they went into hiding.”

Late Night Visit 1

The room fell silent as Azriel’s words sank in. Sky spoke up, his voice low and concerned. “So, no one knows how many of them are left? Or where they’re hiding?”

Azriel shook his head, the weight of the situation clear in his voice. “No one knows. They’ve been in hiding for so long that their numbers could be severely diminished. Worse still, the Lycans know about this bloodline as well. They’re actively hunting them down. It’s a race against time, one that we might not win if we don’t act quickly.”

Tim’s face grew pale at the thought. “So we’re not just fighting the Lycans… We’re also trying to protect this bloodline, find them before the Lycans do, and convince them to help us. That’s…

That’s a lot to ask.”

James clenched his fists, the weight of the situation not lost on him. “But we have to try. If the Lycans get to them first and either kill or enslave them, it could mean the end for all of us. We can’t

afford to lose this race.”

Azriel nodded, appreciating the determination in James’s voice. “Exactly. We need to leverage every resource we have, call in every favor, and leave no stone unturned. The Dispell Poems are our only real shot at defeating the Lycans. We can’t let them fall into the wrong hands, or worse, be lost forever. At the moment Markus and Kaia are on it, trying to figure it out where they are. They have a lead, but is nothing that I can share at the moment.”
