Emotional Reunion-2
Lora frowned, her eyes scanning the room as if piecing together the events that had unfolded. “How long was I out?” she asked, her voice laced with confusion as she realized she was back in the Stormheart pack, safely within their territory.
“Two days,” Azriel replied, his voice filled with both relief and lingering fear. “You’ve been out for two days, Lora.”
Her eyes widened in surprise. Two days? It had felt like a blur, like mere moments had passed. She shook her head slightly, trying to process it all. “I didn’t realize…”
Azriel leaned forward, pressing his forehead against hers. “Don’t think about it,” he whispered “You’re back. That’s all that matters.” His voice wavered slightly as he continued, “I’ll never take you for granted again. I almost lost you, and I can’t… I can’t live without you.”
Lora smiled weakly, her heart full of love for him. She squeezed his hand gently, her voice filled with warmth. “You’ll never lose me, Azriel. I’m always with you. Always.”
At that moment, the door to the room creaked open, interrupting the peaceful silence that had enveloped Lora and Azriel. Before they could turn to see who it was, a delighted scream echoed through the room, followed by the sound of tiny feet racing across the floor.
“Mommy! You’re awake!”
Little Asher’s voice rang out, full of joy and relief. His small form barreled toward the bed, his bright
eyes shimmering with excitement as he threw himself into his mother’s arms.
Lora’s heart swelled, her breath catching in her throat as she wrapped her arms around her son, pulling him close. The warmth of his tiny body against hers brought a wave of emotion crashing over her. Tears filled her eyes as she pressed a kiss to the top of his head, inhaling the familiar
scent of her child. “Asher, my sweet boy,” she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. “Oh, how I missed you.”
Asher clung to her tightly, his little arms wrapped around her neck as if he was afraid to let go. “I
was so scared, Mommy,” he said, his voice muffled as he buried his face in her shoulder. “Daddy said you were sick, but you’re okay now, right?”
Lora held him even tighter, brushing away the tears that escaped down her cheeks. “I’m okay now, baby,” she whispered, her voice gentle and reassuring. “I’m right here. And I’m not going anywhere.”
Azriel watched the reunion with a soft, tender smile, his own eyes brimming with emotion. He reached out to gently stroke Asher’s hair, his heart full as he watched his son snuggle into Lora’s embrace. This was the moment he had prayed for, his family together, safe.

Asher pulled back slightly, his bright eyes searching his mother’s face. “I knew you’d wake up, Mommy,” he said with the innocent certainty only a child could have. “I told Daddy you’d come back.”
Lora smiled through her tears, her hand cupping Asher’s cheek. “You were right, my brave boy. You always believe in me, don’t you?”
He nodded enthusiastically, a grin spreading across his face. “I believe in you and Daddy. You’re the strongest, just like superheroes!”
Azriel chuckled softly, his heart lighter now than it had been in days. “That’s right, buddy,” he said, ruffling Asher’s hair. “Your mom is the strongest of all. She saved all of us.”
Asher’s eyes widened in awe, looking back at Lora with a new kind of admiration. “You saved us? he asked, his voice full of wonder. “Like a real superhero?”
Lora laughed softly, nodding as she kissed his forehead. “Something like that, sweetheart.”
Azriel’s hand found Lora’s again, squeezing it gently. His gaze held hers, and in that look, there was
so much love, so much gratitude for everything she had done.
Just as Lora thought her heart couldn’t feel fuller, the door opened once more, and in walked Mary, her face lit up with a warm smile. But it wasn’t Mary that made Lora’s breath catch in her throat, it
was the sight of the stroller she was pushing. Inside, nestled beneath soft blankets, were her twins,
Mako and Tayo.
Lora’s heart seemed to stop at the sight of them. Her breath hitched, and her eyes welled up with
fresh tears. “My babies,” she whispered, her voice trembling as she stared at the two tiny forms in
the stroller.
Mary wheeled the stroller closer, her expression gentle as she reached out to gently lift one of the
babies, Mako, and handed him to Lora. “Here they are, Luna. They’ve been waiting for you too.”
Lora carefully cradled Mako in her arms, her entire body shaking with emotion. His little face, soft
and peaceful, filled her with a sense of completeness she hadn’t felt in what seemed like an
eternity. A sob escaped her as she stroked his chubby cheek, feeling the warmth of him in her
arms. Then, without hesitation, she reached for Tayo, who was soon nestled in her other arm.
With Asher still at her side and Azriel watching her with eyes full of love, the room was filled with her family, and Lora felt like the missing piece of her heart had finally come back.
She looked up at Azriel, who had come to stand beside her, his hand resting on her shoulder as he
gazed down at their twins. His face was soft, filled with unspoken emotion as he leaned down and
kissed her forehead. “They’ve missed you, just like the rest of us,” he whispered, his voice thick with

emotion.
Asher climbed up on the bed beside her, his wide eyes fixed on his baby brothers. “Are they okay, Mommy?” he asked, his little hand gently reaching out to touch one of his brothers. “They didn’t cry when you were sleeping.”
Lora smiled through her tears, her heart so full it felt like it might burst. “They’re okay, Asher,” she said softly, her voice thick with love. “They’re perfect, just like you.”
Azriel knelt down beside her, placing a hand on Mako’s tiny head and then on Tayo’s, his gaze
shifting from his children to his mate. His eyes glistened, and though he didn’t say anything, Lora
could feel the overwhelming relief and gratitude pouring from him.
Tears of pure happiness streamed down her face as she took it all in. This was her family. Despite everything, despite the battles, the sacrifice, the uncertainty, she was here, with them. The weight of the world had lifted off her shoulders, and all that remained was love.
