Serious Discussion I-1
The soft glow of moonlight filtered through the large, ornate windows of the royal castle’s bedroom as Lora and Azriel made their way inside. It had been an exhausting day and evening, one filled with drama, joy, and moments they would never forget. But now, in the quiet of the night, it was just the two of them, away from the eyes of others.
Azriel closed the door behind them, and the tension in his shoulders seemed to melt away as soon as they were alone. He glanced at Lora, watching her as she moved gracefully toward the large bed in the center of the room. She looked tired but radiant, the events of the evening clearly weighing on her, but her inner strength shone through like always.
They had been given one of the most luxurious rooms in the castle, with rich, velvet drapes, a grand four-poster bed, and intricately designed furniture. But neither of them seemed to notice much of their surroundings. Their attention was entirely on each other.
As Lora reached the bed, she turned to face Azriel, her eyes soft with affection and love. He approached her’slowly, his heart beating with a steady, strong rhythm that seemed to echo the depth of his emotions.
“Lora,” he began, his voice low and filled with emotion as he sat beside her on the edge of the bed. He reached for her hand, his fingers gently wrapping around hers. “I need to tell you something… something I’ve been thinking about some time now.”
She looked at him, her heart swelling with curiosity as she saw the intensity in his gaze. “What is it?” she whispered, her voice gentle.
Azriel’s jaw tightened for a moment, as if he was wrestling with his emotions. Then he exhaled slowly, his thumb brushing against her knuckles. “I just… I can’t begin to describe how much you mean to me, Lora. How blessed I am to have you in my life. You healed parts of me I didn’t even realize were broken.”
Lora’s breath hitched at his words, tears immediately welling in her eyes. She hadn’t expected this tenderness from him tonight, but Azriel had always surprised her, always been more than the fierce
warrior, more than the ruthless Alpha everyone else saw. With her, he was vulnerable, open, and so
r incredibly loving.
Azriel continued, his voice thick with emotion. “I thought I was whole before I met you, but I wasn’t. I
was… empty. Lost, even. And then you came into my life, and everything changed. You healed my heart,
Lora. You made me full again. You made me realize what it means to truly live, … to love. And now, I can’t
For a moment, there was silence between them, a comfortable, loving quiet where words weren’t needed. They both sat there, drinking in the presence of each other, letting the gravity of their connection settle over them like a protective blanket.
But then, Azriel’s expression shifted, a trace of regret flashing across his face. “There’s something I need to say,” he began, his voice softer now, almost hesitant. “I regret that I wasn’t there for you when you had Asher. I wasn’t there to help you through those difficult times, to be by your side when you needed someone. I lost so much time! You went through so much, faced so many challenges and pain…alone. And that… that’s something I’ll never forgive myself for.”
