Markus tried to send him to see some elders and pack doctors, but he refused everything. The
only thing that made him feel alive was snapping rogue’s necks and shredding them to pieces.
Plus, his wolf, Thunder, always refused to show any interest in any female. The only exception was several years ago when he visited Markus and met a small omega in the forest. She was about to be assaulted by two rogues when he met her, and after he saved her, he ended up fucking her. He was in shock that this happened, and he put the blame on the fact that she was in heat and also in pain, knowing that omegas were weak and could reach their demise if they were not mating while in heat. But his biggest shock was when Thunder took control and knotted her, while growling in
approval.
His wolf never showed interest in any other female till that time and, he did not knot anyone else. In fact, this happened only once before, when he was with Avril. But this omega gave him a strange feeling in his stomach.
He tried to meet the omega after, but she never showed up to meet him; to say that he was not disappointed would be an understatement.
He believed that this experience was like a stepping stone to restore his feelings, but after that passionate event he returned to his usual self of coldness.
Two evenings ago, Azriel recalled how he found himself in a nightclub, surrounded by the pulsating beats of music and the vibrant energy of the crowd. Amidst the chaos, he felt a powerful attraction, a magnetic pull that seemed to draw him towards one particular figure: a gorgeous blonde who entered the club like a beacon of light in the darkness.
His heart stopped in his chest as he realized with a jolt of shock that she was his mate. He never expected to encounter his second chance at love, despite knowing the possibility existed. Despite his reservations and the pain of his past loss, all objections vanished in the face of her presence. She was his, and that was all that mattered. It didn’t even matter that she was human.
As they spent a magical night together, Azriel’s instincts and his wolf screamed at him to mark her delicate neck, to claim her as his own and never let her go. But he held himself back, his rational mind reminding his wolf that she was human, unaware of the world of werewolves that existed beyond her own.
And also, he would not mark someone without explaining properly what it meant.
Determined to woo her and gradually introduce her to his world, Azriel was taken aback when she vanished without a trace the next day. His heart sank as he realized he had let his second chance slip through his fingers, leaving him with nothing but the memory of their brief encounter and the

burning desire to find her again. During the last two days, he felt again the same anguish similar to
the one that he felt when he lost Avril. The pain is unbearable, and he feels himself becoming more
feral with each passing moment.
He is interrupted from his thoughts by a mind-link from his Beta James, who gave him a surprising message, “Azriel, it’s James. I just wanted to let you know that we have a lead.”
