“I can’t do it, Markus, I can’t take a chosen mate.” Azriel replied with conviction and anger.

make this union work.” Markus replied grimly.

“I see your point, Azriel, but even I can’t overturn this decision, as the vote was unanimous,” Markus

replied.

“I am not joking, Markus, I can’t do it and now is not the time for the council to poke to my beast. I am in a destructive feral mode and trust me, if Alice arrives, I can’t guarantee her safety.” Azriel

warned him in a cold voice.

“You lost control that much?” Markus asked him in concern.

“Is not this, Markus, “Azriel replied in a tired voice.

Azriel recounted the events of the past few days to Markus, his tone heavy with regret. “Two days ago, I found her,” he began. “My second chance human mate.”

“That’s incredible news, Azriel! Congratulations!” Markus erupted with enthusiasm.

Azriel’s expression darkened as he continued, “But I lost her. She vanished without a trace.”

Markus’s excitement turned to disbelief. “You mean to tell me that your second chance is human, and you let her slip away?”

Azriel nodded solemnly. “Yes,” he admitted, the weight of his failure weighing heavily on him.

Markus’s shock was palpable as he processed the news. “We need to find her,” he declared, his

voice firm with determination.

Azriel’s frustration bubbled to the surface as he replied, “That’s what my beta and delta are trying to do. But time is running out and with each passing moment I am losing control over Thuder. So now you can imagine what would happen if Alice made her appearance here. I can’t guarantee her safety from Thunder’s rage.

Markus replied in a decisive voice “We’ll find her, Azriel. We’ll do whatever it takes to bring her back to you. Let me know if there is something I can do”

Azriel’s gaze hardened with determination as he nodded in agreement. “I can’t afford to lose her She’s my second chance, and I won’t let her slip away again. The only thing that you can do for me

is to keep Alice Carter away from me.”

After the call ended, as Azriel brooded over the situation, memories of Alice Carter flooded his

mind. She was a striking beauty, with flowing black hair and a haughty demeanor that grated on his

nerves. Her privileged upbringing had made her entitled and selfish, caring only for her own desires and pleasures. She had no regard for the responsibilities that came with being a Luna, and Azriel knew she would be a disastrous match for any alpha as she was spoiled and a snob.

Alpha Carter had attempted to push his daughter into Azriel’s path before, suggesting an alliance between their packs. But Azriel refused to entertain the idea. He refused to be shackled, especially to someone like Alice, someone who cared more about material possessions than the welfare of

her pack.

“To hell with this,” Azriel muttered to himself, his jaw clenched with determination. He refused till now to compromise his principles for the sake of political alliances. Especially now as he has found his second chance mate. And he would find Lora, no matter the cost.
