Luna-1

After their conversation with Mary, Elora turned to Azriel, “I will go inside to pack for me and Asher.

It should not take me long.”

With a nod, Azriel watched her disappear into the cottage, his heart swelling with a mix of

emotions. He still couldn’t believe that he had a mate and a pup, everything felt surreal.

Left alone with Mary, Azriel’s gaze drifted to his sleeping son, his chest tight with pride and

affection.

Unexpectedly, Mary’s voice broke through his reverie, drawing his attention. Her words carried a weight of sincerity as she expressed her pride in him, her eyes shimmering with unspoken / emotion. Azriel’s surprise was palpable as he regarded her, touched by her words.

“I knew from Tim how much you and your wolf struggled,” Mary continued, her voice soft but

resolute. “Especially with the challenges of going feral. But you never wavered from your principles, Azriel. And now, the Moon Goddess has blessed you again.”

Azriel’s throat tightened with emotion as he absorbed Mary’s words. Gratitude swelled within him, mingled with a profound sense of humility. “Thank you, Mary,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. “For everything. For taking care of Lora and Asher, for being a constant presence in their

lives when I couldn’t be there for them.”

Mary smiled at him sadly, “Fate can be strange sometimes, but I would be forever grateful that

Lora and Asher entered my life. They brought me so much joy that I forgot my buried pain. Even my wolf reacted to Asher’s presence, despite my inability to shift.”

“Aunt Mary, you are always welcome back to the pack. Please reconsider your decision. My mate

is very kind and doesn’t want to put you in a difficult situation; but I am not her. You find your

happiness with Lora and Asher; why do you want to let it slip between your fingers again? Your mate and Tommy would have wanted to know you happy and content, so… don’t throw it away just because you are scared of pain. Pain will be there whatever we do, but the way that we react to it is a choice. When I lost Avril, my unborn child, both my parents…I was in hell. The pain was unbearable, but you know what kept me going? The pack, the people who were left behind to deal with the aftermath. So, all I ask is to think again and think hard. Don’t let your current happiness slip through your fingers because of the past pain.”

After his speech, Azriel squeezed her hand as he hugged her tightly. He could feel her sobs, as he consoled her. After she calmed down, she wiped her tears, as she told him in a teasing tone, “Since when did you become so wise?”

Azriel smiled at her with warmth, “Life happens, Mary, and all we can do is to adapt and try not to

Mary patted him on the back as she made her way inside the cottage.

As Azriel waited for Elora to pack, the quiet of the cottage was interrupted by the joyful stirrings of

his son. Asher’s eyes fluttered open, and his face lit up with delight as he saw his father.

“Daddy, you’re still here!” Asher exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement.

Azriel’s heart swelled at the sight of his son’s beaming face. “I’m still here,” he affirmed with a soft

smile, reaching out to ruffle Asher’s hair affectionately.

Asher’s eyes sparkled with curiosity as he leaned in closer. “Are you going to stay with us from now

on?” he asked, his voice tinged with hope.

Azriel’s gaze softened as he met his son’s earnest gaze. “I won’t stay here, Asher,” he replied gently. “But your mom, and you are going to move in with me in a big house, so we can all be together as a

family.”

Asher’s eyes widened in astonishment, barely able to contain his excitement. A gasp of delight escaped his lips before he let out a joyous sound, his face radiant with happiness at the prospect of having his parents by his side.

As Elora exited the cottage, she caught sight of her son, Asher, chatting animatedly with Azriel. A rush of warmth filled her heart as she watched the scene unfold before her. Asher’s eyes sparkled with excitement as he spotted her, and he came bounding towards her, his voice filled with

enthusiasm.
