Azriel wasted no time in contacting his friend Markus to share the news of his recent

developments. With a mix of excitement and shock, Markus listened intently as Azriel revealed that he had found his second chance mate and even had a son with her. Markus’s joy for his friend was evident in his enthusiastic response, congratulating Azriel on the newfound happiness in his

life.

However, Markus’s mood quickly shifted when Azriel mentioned the unexpected arrival of Alice Carter, despite prior arrangements. Markus’s shock turned to frustration as he informed Azriel that he had personally confirmed with Alpha Carter that Alice would postpone her visit until a later date, as agreed upon with Azriel in advance.

Azriel’s jaw tensed as he absorbed this information, his irritation growing at Alpha Carter and

Alice’s blatant disregard for their arrangements. With a determined tone, he assured Markus that

he would handle the situation.

“Just be careful, my friend,” Markus warned him. “Once they learn that you have an heir and a mate,

they will become desperate. The Council and especially Alpha Carter always disliked that you have

so much power and influence.”

“Just a bunch of greedy bastarts. Why don’t you get rid of them?” Azriel asked, annoyed.

“Trust me, I tried, but they came with a lot of complications from my father’s reign and I couldn’t

do it overnight. You know that I started gradually to reduce their importance, but my plan will take time,” Markus replied, before bidding farewell to his close friend.

As the conversation ended, Azriel’s mind was already formulating plans to confront Alice and put

an end to her disruptive attitude once and for all.

He decided to mind link in parallel multiple omegas asking if they had seen Alice, and to his shock,

some of them confirmed that they saw her going towards his villa earlier.

Azriel felt how the entire floor moved under him, as he whispered in panic, “Lora!” while rushing outside his office and sprinting towards his home, with his heart beating hard in panic.

When he arrived in front of the door, to his irritation and panic, he could sense Alice’s scent, which enraged him.

Azriel’s footsteps echoed through the halls of his villa. The aroma of freshly cooked food reached his senses, a rare occurrence in his home, and it stirred unfamiliar feelings within him. For the first

time in a long while, his villa felt like more than just a place of solitude, it felt like a home.

Following the enticing scent, Azriel entered the sitting area, where he found Elora curled up on the

couch while watching TV. Despite the warmth of the room and the inviting aroma, her posture tense, and she refused to meet his gaze as he approached.

“Hello, my dove. I hope that I was not late too long. Sorry for waiting for me.”

But as she continued to avoid his eyes, his heart clenched with an ache he couldn’t ignore, realizing that something was not OK.

“Talk to me, Lora. What happened? Why are you not talking to me?” he added, as his confusion and

panic started to increase.

She turned her head towards him and when she looked in his direction, his heart jumped from his

chest as he saw the big red mark on her face.

“What happened to you?” he asked, full of worry as he tried to touch her, but she avoided his touch,

which made his chest constrict.

“Lora, talk to me. What is happening?” he asked, feeling how slowly his temper was rising.

“Why did you bring me here, Azriel? Was it for your son? I would have accepted a co-parent if it was only a matter of an heir,” she replied in a defeated tone, as tears started to run down her face.

Azriel was shocked, “I don’t understand what are you talking about? And what question is this: I

brought you here because your place is next to me. You are my mate!” he added in a decisive

voice.

“And what about your Luna?” she asked in an ironic way.
