Suddenly, a formidable figure emerged from the shadows, commanding attention with his imposing presence. It was the Werewolf King himself, Markus.

Markus stood tall and regal, his muscular frame exuding strength and authority. His chiseled features were accentuated by piercing blue eyes that seemed to hold the wisdom of centuries His dark hair cascaded in waves around his shoulders, adding to his aura of power and magnetism, as he exuded an air of elegance and dominance. Every movement was calculated and deliberate, generating an undeniable magnetism that drew all eyes to him.

As he stepped forward, his powerful aura enveloped the scene, casting a spell of awe and

reverence over all present.

With a voice that resonated like thunder, Markus addressed the two alphas, “Speak!”

“Your Highness,” Alpha Carter and Azriel bowed their heads in submission in front of him.

“What the hell is going on here? Are you both mad?! Alpha Carter, what are your warriors doing here? Since when are you moving troops when visiting an ally?”

“I couldn’t show weakness, Your Highness, as Alpha Azriel threatened to kill my daughter and he refuses to tell me where she is. How would you react in my place?” Alpha Carter sneakily

presented his case.

But King Markus was not easily fooled to fall for his words, as he asked him an unexpected question, “And what exactly your daughter doing here? Yesterday when we spoke, you confirmed to me personally that your daughter will not come to Stormheart territory? What changed? Or are

my words to be ignored?”

Alpha Carter squeezed his fists, before replying with a fake smile, “Your Highness, I conveyed your

order to my daughter, but the heart wants what it wants. Young love. Plus, it was just a matter of

days before she would have arrived to meet Alpha Azriel.”

“I would not tolerate anyone’s rebellious actions, love or not. When I give an order, I expect to be followed, so in this case you and your daughter will need to face the consequences.” King Markus

replied, annoyed in a firm tone.

Alpha Carter paled when he heard the King, “Your Highness, please show some mercy,…” but Markus interrupted him.

“Alpha Carter, I don’t want to hear anything. I will let you know about the punishment.”

“What about Alpha Azriel? He refuses to let me see her. How can I ensure that she is well?” Alpha

Carter asked, enraged.

Markus turned his head towards his old friend, as he asked him in an equal icy tone, “Alpha Azriel, are you aware of where Alice Cartner is at the moment?”

Azriel nodded in his direction, “Yes, King Markus. She is in Stormheart territory.”

The king nodded before continuing, “And why was she not brought here to meet her father?”

Azriel looked in Alpha Carter’s eyes before replying, “At the moment she is inside my dungeon, expecting her judgment.”

Alpha Carter looked at him in shock, before jumping to attack Azriel, but he was stopped by the King, “You bastard! How dare you! I will kill you!”

“Alpha Carter, behave. Now!” Markus shouted in his direction before turning towards Azriel, “And why exactly is she in the dungeon? What are her crimes?”

Azriel released his aura, as his temperament flared when he recalled the reason, “Miss Carter dared to come into my territory uninvited. She was requested multiple times to leave, which she ignored. But, what guaranteed her time in the dungeon overnight was that she took the liberty to slap MY MATE! Do you really believe that I would tolerate this?”

Markus nodded his head with a serious expression, while Alpha Carter felt how all his words

stopped inside his throat, unable to articulate any words, “What Mate?”
