His long fingers picked up the glass, casually swirling it in front of her a few times before striding toward her, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Lydia met the man's gaze, her heart dropping. Her fan-like eyelashes fluttered wildly. "What are you doing?!" she instinctively backed away.
Gideon curled his lips into a smirk. "Are you going to drink it yourself, or do I have to feed it to you?"
The next second, he reached out and grabbed her chin, forcing the liquid into her mouth without a second thought.
In the midst of her earth-shattering shock, the thought that Gideon had lost his mind flashed through Lydia's head!
He looked completely unfazed, yet his movements were brutally unyielding. The vintage bracelet on his wrist swayed, gleaming with a cold light.
"No..." The girl resisted with all her might, knowing exactly how potent the medicine was.
She grabbed his wrist with both hands, but the difference in their strength was far too vast. Her fingers brushed against that bracelet, and as if she had been burned, she quickly pulled her hand back.
During her brief moment of distraction, he managed to pour more than half the medicine down her throat. Lydia was forced to swallow it, looking utterly disheveled.
Releasing her, Gideon set down the glass. His well-defined fingers tugged at his tie and undid the buttons of his shirt, his icy gaze locking onto her.
The medicine hit incredibly hard. Lydia's body went weak, and she stumbled back two steps, clutching the edge of the armchair. Her eyes subconsciously fell on the bracelet around his wrist...
The bracelet was like a streak of light in the dark of night... piercing straight to the depths of her soul!
He wore it on purpose, didn't he?
He hadn't been wearing it in the recent news footage.
The delicate, intricate golden carvings between the links, every curve, seemed to recount that guilt-ridden, despairing evening...
Gideon pulled off his shirt and undid his belt, then yanked the woman who was standing mere inches away. He scooped her up in his arms and tossed her onto the wide, soft double bed.
The medicine kicked in... Lydia's body burned, and her resolve began to slip, but she still used the chance to explain, "Gideon, I'm going to say this one more time. That person really wasn't me."
