Chapter 118

Leopold’s POV

I’m not sure what compelled me to ask her to train me on how to be a proper mate, but the words were out of my mouth before I could stop them. The look she gave me was admittedly comical, and I had to swallow hard to keep from laughing out loud. I shook the thought from my head and kept my eyes steadily on hers and my voice unwavering.

“Teach me to be a proper mate,” I repeated. “Can you handle that?”

She was dumbfounded, and it was clear from the expression on her face as she stared back at me.

“You want me to be the one to teach you how to be a proper mate?” She asked, her voice unsteady as she processed my request.

I nodded once.

“Yes,” I tell her. “You seem to know a lot about what women want. So, how about you train me to be a proper mate while I train you in your etiquette? Deal?”

She continued to stare at me as I had just asked her the impossible. There was a slight rosy hue on her nose and cheeks. She was speechless, and the look on her face was almost adorable.

“Are you sure?” She asked again. “I’m nothing more than an Omega. Why would you want me to teach you?”

“You were quite vocal about it a moment ago,” I remind her, raising my brows. “You seemed to know a lot about what a mate would want. Have you only been talking a big game?”

She pressed her lips together.

“Of course not,” she said, shaking her head. “I just wasn’t expecting you to want me to teach you. You trust me enough to do that?”

“My wolf trusts you,” I deadpan. “So, I suppose it’s only right that I trust you as well.”

The way she treated my wolf was so different than how she treated me, and I wanted to know what it was like to have her treat me that way, knowing that it was me and not my wolf.

“Okay,” she finally said. “I will teach you… But I’ve never found my mate, so I might not be the right one to teach you.”

The corner of my lips twitched; she was flustered, and it was admittedly cute.

“You talked a big game a moment ago. Don’t tell me you’re backing down now?” I asked, raising my brows. It was a challenge, and from the look on her face, she knew it was.

“I don’t back down from anything,” she tells me, her eyes staying on mine.

“Good,” I said, and then, without another word, I turned on some music and turned to face her, offering her my hands again. She stared at it for a moment as the music played around us; she seemed surprised at first, but then the corner of her lips lifted, and she started to sway against the beat. It surprised me at first how good she was at dancing, but then she started making careless mistakes, like stepping on my feet and trying to lead herself after I told her I would be the one leading.

I put my hand on her waist and grabbed her hand before she could make the decision, and I started to move her with the beat of the music.

I ignored the way she fit against me like she was always meant to be there. The way she let out a soft breath when I twisted her around and brought her close to me again. The way her eyes stayed on mine even as I dipped her low. Her cleavage on full display distracted me for a moment, but I recovered myself and kept my eyes on hers.

“A gentleman never stares at a woman’s breasts, Your Majesty,” she said, her tone teasing.
