The Alpha King's Mind Reading Maid (Cecilia) novel Chapter 279

Chapter 279

Cecilia’s POV

The moment those words left my mouth, a roar so guttural and so fierce ripped out of Warren. I could see his eyes turning red with anger and rage, and the roar itself shook the entire room, if not the entire wing of the palace.

I staggered backward when he released me, my heart practically in my throat. I had never seen Warren so angry before, and I had witnessed him nearly killing countless women in the past. But this look of his was dangerous, and I feared for the lives of those in the palace if he were to get loose.

“Warren,” I tried to say to him, trying to calm him down. “Please… don’t.”

“He’s your father,” Warren growled, whipping around to face me after he paced the length of the room. “That Alpha… that sorry excuse of a fucking Alpha is your father!?”

I swallowed and lowered my gaze, hating how angry he was, but not knowing what more I could do. I couldn’t lie to him anymore, and the fact that he was asking me directly about Alpha William… I knew the truth had to come out sooner or later. Especially when I had less than a week left at this palace.

“The way he has treated you,” Warren continued to growl as he pulled away from me, pacing the room back and forth like an animal circling his prey.

He spun to look at me in the eyes; they were still red with suppressed emotions.

“Tell me everything,” he said, his voice so deep that he didn’t sound like himself anymore.

“Warren… you should calm down first,” I told him, stepping closer to him.

I had to push away my nerves and appeal to him as someone I had grown close to. Despite the rage burning inside of him, I knew he was still in there. I reached my hand out to him.

“Please, sit down.”

“Tell me, Cecilia!” He roared, making me flinch despite myself. “What more has he done to you? Why keep this a secret? If you are his daughter… then who the fuck is Sophia??”

“His other daughter… with Diana,” I blurted.

He paused, his eyes still burning into mine.

“Sophia is your sister?”

I looked away from him at that moment.

“You could say that,” I muttered. “Not that she really acts like a sister to me. In fact, she’s been extremely cruel. But I can’t say anything about it because she’s your mate.”

“I refuse to let that woman be my mate,” he said through his teeth, his eyes narrowing. “I knew there was something off about her from the beginning, but I can’t connect with Leopold to tell him. He’s being played. That woman is not our mate, and I will do what I can to prove it.”

I let myself relax a little; he was starting to sound like his old self again, despite the anger still simmering on the surface.

“What about the mark?” I asked. “She wears your mark, Warren. There’s no explaining that.”

“Might not be able to explain right now… but will figure it out,” he tells me, his eyes remaining on mine. “Want

to know everything, Cecilia. What have they done to you?”

wallowed before letting out a breath. I reached out, tentatively, before taking his hand in mine.

“Sit with me,” I say, my voice soft.

He looked down at our joined hands before meeting my eyes again. When he gave me a small nod, I pulled him towards the bed and sat down. He sat down beside me; I didn’t let go of his hand, and he didn’t let go of mine. It was almost like the anchor I needed, and I found myself relaxing even more.

I spent the next 30 minutes telling Warren everything. I told him about my life growing up in the pack… I told him about how my mother supposedly died and the relationship I thought she had with my father. I told him about my father’s betrayal, sending me off to the palace under false pretenses.
