Chapter 38
“Not me… I’m good staying here,” Vivian said proudly. “I’m going to continue climbing the social ladder and get on the King’s good gracious. I’m destined to be his Luna Queen and stand by his side.”
Jasmine laughed, her eyes narrowing.
“And what makes you think he’ll want you as his Duna Queen?” She asked, shaking her head. “You are not the one he chose for himself.”
Her eyes turned in my direction for a moment before returning to Vivian.
Vivian’s face reddened slightly, and she pressed her lips in a thin line as she glared back.
“Because I have natural silver eyes,” she said, batting her eyes at us. “Everyone knows that the Moon Goddess extra blesses wolves born with silver eyes. Once he realizes that I’m special, he’ll want me. Besides, Cecilia is an Omega without any true class or knowledge of how our world works. He’ll realize that soon enough and force her back into the slave quarters himself.”
She was talking like I wasn’t right there, and the girls, her friends, were eating it up.
Some of the others at different tables were taking notice of our conversation as well, and I could hear the snickers from around
“Oh, my goodness. This is so embarrassing, but you’re using the wrong spoon,” Vivian said, pointing to the spoon in my cup, and then motioning for the slightly bigger one beside me. “Though none of us really expect you to know that.”
This made the others laugh even more, and my face was on fire. I put my hands on the table and slowly rose to my feet.
“You’re right, Vivian. I’m an uneducated Omega. However, I should probably tell you that the silver eye myth was just that… a myth. A researcher, about 20 years ago, discovered it was false, though rumors persist. The Goddess doesn’t leave physical signs of her blessings. In fact, she typically waits until you are of age before she even considers blessing you with a gift, and it’s only if she feels you truly deserve it.”
Vivian’s lips parted slightly, her face paling. I didn’t give her a chance to reply; I turned to the other girls.
“The Northern territory has some large packs indeed, and they have their strengths when it comes to strategy and knowledge. However, it’s the Eastern territories that are renowned for producing the strongest warriors. I’m sure you’ve heard of some of the top tanking Gammas, Ned Idleson, Jeffrey Kingston, and Mike Needle. All from different packs in the Eastern territory.”
I heard one of the girls suck in a sharp breath… but I wasn’t finished yet.
“And also, bond strength depends on bloodline compatibility and wolf maturity, not rank. Even an Alpha’s daughter can lack a bond if their lineage is diluted. I also know of some Omegas who have found their true mates. Your world must be so small if that’s the reality you are living in,” I said, shaking my head. “Also, this is the correct spoon. The one you are using is for the gelato they are about to serve us.”
On cue, the maids returned with bowls of gelato and began placing them on each table. Vivian’s face paled, and her eyes were wide. The entire place was so quiet I could hear my own heartbeat.
I then turned to Claira and her friends.
“It was lovely getting to know you ladies, and I do hope we have a chance to speak again. But I’m a bit tired, and I’m going to return to my room now.”
Claira nodded, understanding in her eyes.
“We will get together again soon,” she assured me. “It was lovely meeting you as well, Cecilia.”
“Truly,” Cora said with a smile of her own.
“We’ll be in touch,” Jasmine added, winking at me.

1 smiled at her, and then I was about to leave, but Vivian grabbed my arm tightly, stopping me. I hadn’t realized she was standing until I turned to look at her.
“You bitch… You think you can walk away after you said that shit to us?” She asked in a growl. “Like you are some high and mighty she-wolf. You only know that information because you sleep your way to the top. You spread your legs for anyone who looks at you.”
