Her stomach growled.

She still hadn’t eaten lunch, so she stopped by the break room, grabbed some bread and yogurt, and returned to her office.

A moment later, someone knocked on her door.

Elise hadn’t expected to see Jason. She set down her yogurt and stood.

“Mr. Clark.”

Jason smiled and nodded, then handed her a bag of plum-flavored beef jerky and a pack of cheese-and-nut snacks.

“Thanks for the reminder, Mr. Clark. I’ll order them online tonight.”

“And who’s going to install them?”

“The seller usually sends someone.”

“A complete stranger?” Jason asked. “I’m not sure that’s a good

idea.”

“It’s really no trouble. Just let me know when they arrive.”

Jason smiled, then left her office.
