The Cold Surgeon's Contract Bride novel Chapter 123

Ferris's words made everyone breathe a sigh of relief.

Vivian jumped straight to the point, her voice trembling with excitement. "Who on earth has it out for her? Is someone trying to use your marriage to get to you? Tell Mom, I'll handle..."

"It's just a misunderstanding. You don't need to worry," Ferris cut her off, his voice firm and resolute. "I'll take care of it."

"But this has blown up so much..."

"Alright, our son said he'll handle it," my father-in-law intervened, stopping Vivian from asking more. His tone was stern. "Don't ask anymore."

Vivian looked displeased. "Ferris just doesn't want us to worry."

"He's a grown man. He should be given the chance to fix his own problems," my father-in-law insisted firmly. "We just need to stand behind him."

Though slightly reluctant, Vivian stopped pressing the issue. Standing to the side, Lucille looked a bit awkward. She forced a smile and said, "You must have been dealing with those rumors, Ferris. You've worked so hard."

Hearing her voice, the man's calm gaze swept over, lingering on my shoulder for a few seconds before he spoke. "It's getting late. I'll take you home so you can rest."

"Oh... that's too much trouble, isn't it?" Joy flickered in Lucille's eyes, though she pretended to be polite. "But if you insist."

Vivian took all this in with a cold scoff, saying flatly, "Even though Ferris solved the issue, you two still need to learn from this."

"You're right, Vivian. I'll have a serious talk with Selena later."

Vivian wanted to say more, but Ferris interrupted by calling for the maid.

Five minutes later, Ferris, Lucille, and I stood at the entrance of the estate. Sharp-eyed Lucille noticed his car and gasped in surprise, "Ferris, what happened to your bumper? Did you get into an accident?"

I followed her gaze and saw a dent on the front of his car, clearly from a collision.

"I just scratched it by accident," Ferris's voice remained as cold as ever. "It's nothing."
