Before Abacus was even discharged from the hospital, the main house at Misty Vale had already been outfitted with a brand-new playroom, perfectly divided into gaming, resting, and early education zones.
At the moment, Franco sat on the sofa in a casual white t-shirt and black sweatpants, holding Abacus in his arms.
Abacus leaned against Franco, gripping his baby bottle and drinking his milk.
Every now and then, he rubbed the back of his head against Franco's chest through the fabric. The firm yet yielding muscle was perfectly comfortable for him.
Franco placed a large hand gently on the boy's head. "Drink your milk, be good."
Abacus held the bottle with both hands and took two big gulps.
Hearing a knock at the door, the baby jolted and whipped his head toward the entrance.
The moment he saw Jay, he broke into a massive grin and spat out the bottle's nipple.
Jay walked over, crouched in front of him, and reached out to give Abacus's head a gentle pat. "Good boy."
Jay had been back from his errands for a while. He had showered, changed his clothes, and scrubbed his hands according to strict medical protocol before stepping into the main house. While Abacus's immune system had drastically improved, they still had to be careful with the finer details.
But in the near future, Abacus would be able to live just like any normal child.
Abacus lowered his head and clamped his mouth back onto the bottle to finish his milk.
Outside the playroom, Jackson strolled in at a leisurely pace. He offered the baby a warm smile. "Be a good boy, Abacus. Grandpa Jackson will hold you. Once you finish your milk, I'll show you the wooden horse I made you."
Abacus had been back at Misty Vale for over half a month, and he absolutely adored Jackson, just as much as Jackson doted on him.
So, the moment he heard Jackson offer to hold him, he bit down on the nipple with his half-grown front teeth and eagerly reached out both arms.
"Boss, I'll take Abacus downstairs," Jackson said, scooping the toddler up.
