She made a loud gasp as she opened her eyes which widened at the sight of Celestia’s enormous imperial castle on fire. Her trembling gaze wandered to the sky, which was pitch-black with angry, dark clouds that appeared as though they were about to rain blood rather than snow.
Screams could be heard coming from every direction, but she was unable to turn away from the castle to see what was happening behind her.
She stared tensely at her bloodied, bare feet and realized they were
somehow attached to the earth.
Her hands were shaking, her pulse was pounding, and she was experiencing chaos in her mind that was almost as loud as the chaos happening around
her.
Even though the scratches on her exposed flesh hurt extremely, they couldn’t compare to the torment she was experiencing within. Her chest felt dreadfully heavy; she felt like she was constantly being stabbed and the pain was getting so bad that she could feel tears forming in her eyes.
Her teary hazel gray eyes mirrored the flame-covered fortress and even though she was feeling empty, she continued to stare at the crumbling castle as though she was waiting for someone to suddenly emerge from it. Someone that had been taken away from her.
“Bring him back to me! I will stop at nothing to have him returned to me!” She found herself whispering. Tears were on the verge of pouring out of her eyes and suddenly she fell to her knees, placing her hand on her chest as

she tried to breathe. “Please, I beg of you! Bring him back to me please! I’ll do anything! Please!”
At that precise moment, the sky flashed harshly with thunder and in a blink of an eye, she found herself in the ruins of Fireria castle, standing in front of a fire wall in the hallway again.
She puzzledly regarded the fire wall. “What is happening?”
“There would be no good in defying destiny. The lycan is the antagonist of your story and will only cause you pain.” Out of the flames came a voice.
Ophelia tried to make sense of what had just happened to her. “What… What happened to Nikolai? Why was I…?”
“YOU! YOU CONTINUE TO IGNORE MY WARNINGS!”
“Please! Tell me! Was that just a glimpse? That is not my future is it?!” Fear gripped her heart of the thought of Nikolai leaving her in a way that would make her feel that hurt. That empty.
“Only you, with the sacrifice of your priceless memories, can save him.” Suddenly, the voice said in a more subdued tone.
“What?” Ophelia asked, confused.
She abruptly felt the earth beneath her feet tremble harshly and then found herself back in front of Celestia imperial castle which completely turned into rumble. Every hit onto the ground caused a large thud that made Ophelia jolt.
Her fists were gripped and quivering as she peered at the castle with wide eyes. “Nik…” Her hands were shaking as much as her voice.
A harsh wind began to blow around her, trying to push her back in a rather forceful way but she stood her ground, squinting her eyes at the castle as she screamed out, “Nikolai!”

“Ophelia!” She heard that voice shout out filled with terror and felt a strong grip on her shoulders..
She suddenly opened her eyes to meet wide, crimson eyes that were overflowing with anxiety.
“Nikolai.” Ophelia called frantically, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Ophelia.” He called, heaving a sigh of relief, pulled her up, and embraced her right away.
Ophelia returned the hug, fiercely grasping his shirt, trembling in his presence as she drew him closer out of a profound concern that he would vanish at any moment. “Please, don’t leave me, please.” She whimpered, gripping his shirt even tighter as the horror that had taken hold of her heart made it difficult for her to breathe.
Nikolai gave her a strong hug and gently stroked her back to ease her anxiety. “I won’t. I won’t leave you Ophelia.”
“Ple…ase.” For the first time in three centuries, Ophelia wailed aloud while having tears fall down her cheeks. “Promise me that you won’t leave.
Please.”
“Ophelia.” Nikolai called, sounding deeply worried.
“Let’s get married soon, let’s unite soon. You can’t leave me; I won’t allow it; and if you do, I’ll haunt you for eternity.” Ophelia said hurriedly. Every time she spoke, her voice trembled, her hold on his shirt grew tighter, and her breath became stale and labored.
She was terrified.
Nikolai cooed, “Ophelia,” wanting to move her in a more comfortable position, but Ophelia merely tightened her hold on him and prevented him from doing so.
“Ophelia.” He called once more, this time whispering heavily.

“Please hold me.” Ophelia cried out in a hushed voice.
Nikolai gently raised her and forced her to sit on his lap while holding her even closer. Having the chance, she relaxed her head on his chest.
“We’ll get married soon. A week from now. We will become one and I will never leave you. We will live together, die together.” He held her tightly and tenderly, whispering as he softly stroked her hair. “Nothing.. no one will come between us, there’s only you in my eyes and my heart Ophelia.”
“Hold me.” Ophelia sniffed, her eyes slowly shutting, and her other hand tightening around his shirt, not appearing to be about to let go any time soon. “You are mine, and only mine.”
Nikolai smiled, planting a kiss on her forehead and moving his fingers to her face, wiping her tears away with his thumb. “I’m yours, only yours.”
“Yours.”
“Only you.”
“You’re warm.” Ophelia whispered, her voice sounding lower. Her breathing returned back to normal, her anxiety dissolving calmly but that didn’t stop her heartbeat from pounding ferociously.
“You are fearfully cold.” Nikolai sighed, caressing her cheek slowly.
“I’m scared.”
“You don’t have to be. Do you want me to kill a god for you?”
Ophelia giggled weakly. “Can you?”
“Maybe?”
“I’m scared that they’ll take you away from me all in the name of fate.” Ophelia admitted.
“Fate.” Nikolai bit down his lower lip. He hated that word.

“You’re the villain of my tale. Why do I believe that?” She suddenly asked.
Nikolai smirked. “Because it’s true.”
“True? It makes me even more scared.”
“You shouldn’t darling, not while I’m with you.”
“Lai Lai?” Ophelia called, snuggling in closer to Nikolai.
Nikolai smiled. “FireStorm?”
“I’m in love with you.”
Nikolai blinked in shock. His lips parted slowly in the same shock and slowly, a bright smile curled his lips reaching up to his eyes.
“Really?” He asked, his voice filled with excitement that he couldn’t contain. He didn’t even try to contain it. He didn’t want to.
His heart swell with happiness, he nuzzled his nose in Ophelia’s hair and then threw his head back, relaxing against the bed board as his smile grew.
“You doubt me?” Ophelia asked, her low voice filled with uncertainty.
“Never.” Nikolai breathed out with pride.
Ophelia giggled once more. “Good boy.”
Nikolai leaned in back to her, fiddling with the silky strands of her black brown hair and ran his fingers into her hair, trailing them slowly on her
cold neck. “You drive me crazy.” He cooed.
“Is that so?” Ophelia mused.
Nikolai smiled. Her breath was incredibly steady now. She would fall asleep once again. He loved the way she clung to him like a plush bear. This was the way it was supposed to be. He was better than any plush bear could
ever be.
