Sasha’s wide, inquisitive gaze caused Ophelia to purse her lips, making her feel utterly perplexed. After removing her from her cousin and bringing her to her chamber, the Novikov simply stared at her as if she were some type of experiment.
She clumsily made a step to the right, but Sasha followed. She then awkwardly took a step to the left, but Sasha continued to follow.
Ophelia nearly snapped, but she restrained herself and said, “Alright,” with a
low voice.
“Did you bring me here so you could look at me? You’re making me feel uncomfortable.” She acknowledged before turning to take a seat at Sasha’s bed’s edge.
Sasha sighed heavily as she approached Ophelia. “You need to meet
someone.”
“Why would you barge….” Ophelia stumbled and gaped at her in shock. “Who? Is there a problem? Does that person matter to me?”
Sasha groaned. “Why do you have so many queries? I’m not trying to kill you or anything.”
“You have no chance against me.” Ophelia crossed one leg over the other and tsked. “Our last conversation was a long while ago. You bringing me here only to meet someone strikes me as strange.”
“It’s significant.” Reluctantly, Sasha murmured.
Ophelia gave her a long look before rising. “Is Nikolai involved in it?”
Sasha did not respond and averted her eyes.
Ophelia’s eyes grew droopy. “Is this related to the child of doom?”

“What?” Sasha asked in a state of shock as she cast a wide gaze at Ophelia. “How do you..
“I am not a dragon of dominance, whatever that means, and Nikolai is not the child of doom.” Ophelia grumbled.
“You already have a lot of knowledge, yet you still do not accept that?” Sasha questioned in awe and wonder.
“Do you think Nikolai is the progeny of some divinity created exclusively for chaos?” Ophelia questioned, furrowing her brow. “Yes, he is corrupt, but I find that hard to believe.”
Sasha inhaled deeply. “Look. On the night of the coronation, something happened that completely caught me off guard. I didn’t believe it either.”
“What happened?” Ophelia asked curiously.
“I believe I overheard Nikolai and his father speaking, and I also believe I heard Alexander explain why he killed Nikolai.”
Ophelia was taken aback.
Sasha gazed, anticipating Ophelia’s shock at her recent admission that Nikolai was murdered by his father. “You know?”
Ophelia made a slow nod. “I was informed.” She then turned away.
“Oh.” Sasha nodded.
“Fixing everything together, did Alexander kill Nikolai because he is the child of doom?” Ophelia pondered her question.
“It’s true that a father cannot kill his child for that reason.” Sasha
murmured.
Ophelia turned to face Sasha as her mind processed those words in an entirely panicked manner.

“I believe I will have to look into this myself.” Ophelia sighed. Nikolai being the child of doom… Was that going to change anything? Before she arrived in Celestia, she didn’t even know anything about that legend. Wait! Did she genuinely believe this?
Apprehensively, she started to move toward the door. “Please pardon me, I really don’t feel comfortable.” She grabbed the handle and spoke in an incredibly courteous tone.
Unexpectedly, there was a tap on the door, and when she opened it, she was greeted with a pair of wide-eyed lavender eyes.
“Oh?” Dazed, Ophelia questioned.
“A dragon?” Slowly asking, the witch moved back. “So it’s true?” She slowly inquired.
“Are you the person I’m meant to meet?” Ophelia continued speaking even though she didn’t understand what the witch was talking about.
The witch nodded slowly, and an uncomfortable tension developed
between them.
Ophelia’s eyes gradually took on the shape of their golden reptile-like appearance, sharpening as they stared at each other as if trying to read each other’s minds.
Witches with such unusual eye colors, like this one, were frequently half-mages. Mages focused on using the Earth’s skills in various ways. The elements of water, wind, fire, ice, and earth were all within their power and control whilst witches relied more on pure magic and witchcraft.
This witch was half mage.
“Were you informed that we were supposed to meet or something?” Curious, Ophelia questioned the witch.
She was shocked by how strong and pure the witch’s aura was. She gave off

the impression that she would never harm a fly, but Ophelia was aware that this was impossible, especially in the context of the time when conflicts were always raging.
“Yes.” The witch smiled and then bowed her head in deference. “My name is Skyla Flores, and I’ve been chosen to serve as a new council member. If you stay at the castle, you’ll see me more frequently.”
Ophelia replied with a gracious smile. “I’m Ophelia Viadislav.” There was no need for a longer introduction. A large part of her was telling her that she was already aware of her presence in the castle.
Why would Sasha want her to have a meeting with a newly elected council member? Everything was bizarre.
She called, “Sasha,” and then turned to look around the space. Sasha was nowhere to be seen. It almost seemed like she had vanished into thin air.
“Sasha?” Ophelia called, her voice getting a little louder, and she continued to look in the bathing room and closet but couldn’t find her.
As she slowly made her way back into the room, she saw Skyla assisting her with the small search. “I’m positive I didn’t see her walk out.”
Skyla gave a nod. “I am sure as well.”
It was impossible for her to depart without being seen because they were standing by the doorway.
She realized Skyla’s every movement was just elegant as she stared at her with interest. ‘I’m sure she had etiquette lessons. Ophelia smiled despite having a slight jealous feeling.
“At the beginning of the day, Sasha Novikov came up to me and invited me to her chamber stating that she wanted me to meet a significant person. She even designated a maid to bring me here.” Skyla started out gravely and Ophelia faked a grin.
