Her focus was drawn back to Nikolai when he gently held her chin. And even though her gaze did not tremble, the hunger in his eyes was becoming quite obvious.
“We’re getting married tomorrow night, darling.”
“Oh?” Ophelia questioned gently, chewing her bottom lip, and hesitantly adding. “Wedding night.”
“Wedding night.” With a contented moan, Nikolai snatched her lips and kissed her passionately and intensely, as if he were addicted to a narcotic that could throw him up high. As he felt her tense up, he kissed her bottom and grinned. Then, as he drew her in closer to him and forced their bodies up against one another, he wrapped his arm around her body.
When she gave out a lovely moan and grabbed his shirt, drawing him closer, he kissed her more passionately and smiled against her lips.
“I believed we were anticipating the wedding night,” A fraction of an inch away from her lips, Nikolai laughed.
“We are.” Ophelia moaned.
“Darling, your body is telling me you desire more.” Nikolai teased.
“I do.” Ophelia grumbled, rubbing her thighs together.
She was feeling tremendously hot in a way that she couldn’t explain even though they were outside with the chilly winter wind whipping about them. Nikolai stared at her like he was going to devour her.

“Are you willing to wait?” With intense eyes that beamed, Nikolai
questioned. He hoped she wouldn’t accept! All he had to do was teleport to the bedroom, but the roof would be much nicer.
Ophelia smiled and gave a slow blink before looking up at the sky. “You can wait; it’s not a long time anymore.”
“I can.” Nikolai inhaled a long breath.
“Yes, you can.”
“I can. I can. I can.” He chanted and Ophelia couldn’t help but laugh. 2
As the combination of the chilly wind and his adoring warmth enveloped her, she laid her hands on his shoulders and closed her eyes. “What did you do to your father Nikolai?”
“Huh?” The unexpected inquiry caught Nikolai off guard.
Ophelia gently opened her eyes and fixed her gaze on him. “You stated that you wished to settle a dispute. Remember?”
“Oh.” Nikolai’s face fell. “I killed him and the witches.”
Ophelia’s face turned pale, her heart pounded violently, and she felt her body trembling on its own. She desperately wanted to leave his warmth, but his arms were around her and those eyes kept her.
“What are you doing?”
“You killed him?”
“He attempted to separate you from me.”
“Yes! But why murder him?
“Because he attempted to separate you from me,” Nikolai answered in a way that sent shivers down her spines.
“Nikolai!” Ophelia screamed, pushing him by his chest.

Chuckling and unintentionally releasing her, he made himself stutter back to the brink. “He deserved to die. He was already close to death.”
In order to see the relief and happiness in Nikolai’s dark eyes, Ophelia fixed her gaze on him. He murdered his father—the man who had murdered him. Just how did he feel? “How can you say that? You shouldn’t ha…”
“He deserved to die.” Ophelia scowled sternly when Nikolai interrupted
with a snarl.
“Bring me back; I need to sleep.”
“Why are you so upset about his passing?” Ignoring her statement, Nikolai questioned.
“Take me back to the chamber, Nikolai,”
“Why are you so enraged about Alexander’s passing?” She took a step back and gave Nikolai a glare as he approached her with a question.
“Are you deaf?”
There it was. Her words always pierced into him.
“FireStorm,”
“Take me back.” Ophelia sputtered.
“Darling.” Nikolai murmured, moving towards her.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t prepared for Ophelia, to let herself tumble over the roof without batting an eye. His soul briefly fled his body before abruptly returning, jolting him to suddenly disappear from sight as he felt his pulse skip a beat.
The wind was blowing hard against Ophelia’s body as she closed her eyes and spread her arms out. The enormous imperial royal castle of Celestia’s

highest tower was where she was falling from, but she didn’t make any attempt to release her wings.
She was coming closer to the earth and death with each passing second, and the lack of his warmth let her feel the dreadful winter cold.
Was she rendered blind by his love or by his darkness?
Why didn’t she worry that he may hurt her?
Every aspect of him, his motions, words, glances, touches, and laughs as well as his past and demons, spilled danger. However, she allowed herself to fall for him. Literally.
Ophelia abruptly found herself surrounded by a gloomy mist that swirled menacingly around her halfway to the castle. When she opened her eyes, she discovered herself hovering above the earth with Nikolai standing there, gazing at her as if he had seen a ghost. The dark mist that was frantically swirling around his body and matched his look exactly.
As if to assure himself that she was standing there in front of him, alive and well, he took a big breath. She then fell into his arms as he let the mist he had created around her disappear.
Ophelia pressed her lips together, fixed him with her gaze, and wrapped her arms around his neck. “It was wrong for you to kill him.”
“I just experienced a heart attack.” Nikolai took shallow breaths.
“That’s your punishment for killing your father.” Ophelia grimaced.
Nikolai’s eyes were wide in panic. “What if…”
“I knew you’d catch me Nikolai.” Ophelia sighed, kissing his cheek tenderly
to calm him down. “Don’t worry.”
“Never ever do that again.” Nikolai muttered, pulling her head to his chest
to embrace her. “Please.”

Ophelia’s eyes widened as she listened to his heartbeat, which was
thumping abnormally and exceedingly erratically. Did she go too far? “I’m sorry.”
Nikolai let out a deep breath and vanished from sight, appearing back in the room and gently placed her on the bed. “You… You can sleep now.” He muttered, averting her gaze.
Ophelia stared at him with wide eyes. He placed his hand on his chest as if to calm himself down then turned away from her and began walking towards the door.
“No! Don’t leave!” She yelled, jumping out of the bed.
Nikolai sighed deeply and turned to face her looking extremely frustrated.
“He deserves to die! The only way for him to be released from everything he had done was to die! I could have tortured him until I got bored, but I chose not to. You have every right to be angry with me for killing him because it happened so quickly, but please… Do not do that again, Ophelia.”
Ophelia went cold. Really, she had gone too far. “I’m really sorry, Nik, but I simply…”
“Go to bed. We’ll meet again at dawn.” He whispered and moved away, but she quickly sprinted after him and embraced him from behind.
“What…why are you leaving?” She enquired, inhaling his alluring masculine scent.
“I’ll lose all self-control.” Nikolai tugged on her hands and tried to pull them apart but she resisted by climbing onto his back, throwing her arms around his neck and legs around his waist.
“Don’t leave!”

Nikolai laughed and grabbed her ankles, calling her “FireStorm, let go, or I’ll pin you down.”
“Don’t leave.” Ophelia spoke softly in his ear.
Before Ophelia realized what was happening, she felt her arms being tugged violently and felt her back touch the ground. Nikolai’s eyes were blazing furiously and swirling like they had a consciousness of their own.
As Nikolai stood between her legs over her, her heart skipped. That gaze was lethal. The intensity was so great that she could feel her body beginning to dissolve.
“I.. N…Nik.. Lai Lai.” She struggled to talk, but eventually managed to do so in a very tense tone.
