The Lycan's Forbidden Mate novel Chapter 202

202 Fire on fire

Ophelia gave birth to a loud cry and spat copious amounts of blood as she felt the spear pushed straight into her stomach, first gently and then violently with a single push causing it to erupt from her back. Her entire body jolted in excruciating pain as the spear was pulled out suddenly, causing the chain that was around her wrist to chatter with excitement.

She was firmly restrained to the wall and was too weak to even consider breaking free from the chains. Her clothes were tattered with fresh and dry blood, her eyes were in their golden reptilelike state, lifeless and her mouth was covered in her own blood, all the way down to her chin.

Ophelia screamed even louder as the absurdly large build guard drove the spear into her stomach once again. She could feel golden scales beginning to form under her eyes, cascading down and completely encasing her cheeks. She was having trouble breathing and opened her mouth, forcing

herself to take breaths.

She had been dragged back to Fireria forcibly a week prior. Upon her return, she was immediately taken to the dungeon and had been subjected to torture nonstop. Though the pain was not as excruciating as the fire god’s in her dreams, experiencing such agony over an extended period of time was driving her insane!

Nikolai’s face would appear every time she felt herself on the verge of death, startling her awake. She could only think about him. It was unfortunate. After all, he had threatened her and pushed her away.

Her heart ached more than the spear that kept launching into and out of her stomach. Her organs were occasionally pierced, but it was clear that her father and uncle had no intention of killing her,

Once more, the spear found its way into her stomach, causing her

choke on her own scream. She could not really move her legs because her ankles were shackled to the chains anchored to the ground. She was far

too weak to do so.

To use the sunstone, her father and uncle had always made sure that she was at the verge of death. It had been three hundred years since they had attempted to use it on her, ever since she had thrown it in the ocean. She had grown too strong to be defeated by a flimsy spear imbued with dark magic.

Unfortunately, she sensed herself losing this battle. She could not cry any longer, but she wished to be saved from this torment, and all she could

think of was Nikolai!

The guard twisted the spear into her body and harshly pulled it, his scarred expressionless face devoid of emotion.

Ophelia screamed, fire weakly emanating from her body.

The guard punched her in the exact spot where he had been piercing her, his hand nearly going through her body. Ophelia’s eyes widened in terror as the agony froze her spirit to the point of immobility. What was clear in her mind was Nikolai’s smiling facethat dimpled smile.

She recalled how she used to chant that she was not afraid of dying, and it made her heart race with fear. The gods knew how terrified she was at that precise moment; it was so intense that she started shaking her head wildly. And when she found her voice, It has a week, you bastard!! NIKOLAI!!!

Instantly, dark smoke filled the dungeon, covering it completely. Ophelia sensed an ominous presence that elicited goosebumps to appear on her skin as if it were a disease. She screamed as she felt the hand leave her stomach. And when she heard a deep dangerous snarl, she strained he gaze into the mist to find a pair of glowing deep crimson wolflike ey

staring at her.

Nik..She broke, tears streaming down her cheeks. She struggled, the chains rattling. But when those eyes vanished, she felt cold grip her soul.

Nikolai! No! Don’t leave!

Eventually the mist lifted and she saw Nikolai standing in front of her, his olivegreen eyes staring at her. But it was the tears that began to stream down those beautiful warm eyes that shocked her entire being.

O..Ophelia.His voice broke, his hand cradled her face, and she closed her

eyes in response.

Do not say a word.” She whispered breathlessly and opened her eyes. You abandoned me here for a week!

I

Do not say a word! You are not deaf!!

Nikolai’s eyes widened.

This pain pales in comparison to the agony you instilled in me when you shoved me away! Saving me does not mean I will ever forgive you! This pain is nothing! AbsolutelyNothing. I detest you so much for taking advantage of me.

Nikolai lowered his eyes, shaking his head. My intention was not to cause you harm.

Do. Not. Say. A. Fucking. Word!Ophelia screamed, staring at him as though he had annihilated her entire race.

Nikolai pursed his lips. He ripped off the bloodsoaked garment that had been covering her stomach. It was a very deep wound that was pouring out so much blood. Reaching in close, he pressed his palm against the wound on her back and then against her stomach.
