She hurriedly followed Vladmir, who was speed walking down the hall, as she was excited to see her brother soon. Despite her quick steps, she was no match for his speed but continued out of enthusiasm. He may be fast, but he was no match for her in the sky. 1

As soon as they reached the library entrance, the massive doors opened, allowing them to enter the magnificent royal library. As Ophelia’s eyes swept the unusually tall shelves loaded with books and scrolls, she stopped walking and parted her lips in wonder. The library was large enough to house three towns. Undoubtedly, one could become lost in it. She sniffed and exhaled a contented sigh.

“Smells like heaven.”

When he saw her dramatic response to the library, Vladmir paused and turned to her while chuckling. “Bookworm?”

“No, no, I don’t read often because of my training, but books make me feel relaxed.” Ophelia retorted with a flimsy smile.

Vladmir nodded with a visibly impressed expression. “Interesting.” Then he turned and entered the library farthest.

He was pursued by Ophelia, who caught up with him and walked by his side. She looked around but couldn’t find her brother. Nothing but books “Where is my brother?”

“In here somewhere, probably with Sasha.” Vladmir answered slowly.

“And Sasha is your sister?” Ophelia enquired.

“Indeed.” Vladmir responded and halted. “Actually, Nikolai had instructed Viktor and I to keep an eye on the young dragon, but Sasha continues abdicating our responsibility.”

“Responsibility?” Ophelia guffawed.

“Oh oh, no. Don’t get me wrong; we don’t follow Nikolai’s orders; we are only acting in this manner because we perceive the young dragon to be a threat and because Nikolai is terrifying.” Ophelia held back a smirk as Viadmir disclosed.

She wondered what he meant when he said Sasha was taking up too much

of his time to watch over Lev.

“What exactly do you admire about Nikolai? In light of the way you declared him to be yours during breakfast that day, I am well aware that you are drawn to him. However, he is not just attractive–despite how much I wish he wasn’t–because goddess! The sound of war cries and breaking bones is not something I enjoy, but Nikolai has been insane from the moment he took his first step.” Vladmir babbled in a variety of heightened emotions.

Ophelia was unable to say anything other than a grin, but Vladmir continued speaking nonetheless.

“He once ruined my fifth birthday, saying he saw blood everywhere, and later, when he was punished by Alpha, I woke up the next day to find my room completely destroyed and my bed filled with the heads of all of my friends!”

Ophelia froze and held her breath as soon as he finished speaking. Although his words were harsh, she was powerless to stand up for Nikolai. She had a strong sense that it was true–why would Vladmir lie?

Swallowing, he gazed at Vladmir, who had also halted. He gave her a quizzical look before smiling.

“I’m attempting to eject you from Celestia, but I’m not telling you lies, I promise.” He spoke in a commanding and serious manner.

Biting her bottom lip, Ophelia went away silently.

“Please stay with me!” Vladmir shouted as he pursued her.

At the opposite end of the library, Sasha was holding a tall stack of heavy volumes with ease before setting them on the table next to them and heaving a sigh of relief. A particular young dragon was sitting close to the fireplace, sipping hot tea while she dusted her hand.

Sasha couldn’t help but stare carefully at the fire in his hazel–gray eyes, which twinkled in accordance with the flames. She almost appeared to be fascinated.

Lev appeared to be a human male in his early twenties, yet he was buff, physically fit, and a sight to behold.

She averted her sight as if she had not just been staring at him as soon as he turned his head to face her.

“The tea is delicious. Can I have a biscuit with it?” In a calm, graceful manner, he questioned. His voice was far too deep for his age, but it complemented that calm expression on his face.

She gave him a cool, collected look in return. “I have already sent someone to bring it.”

Lev nodded before refocusing his attention on the flames. “Even if it

seems like you’re giving me everything I ask for, my sister is still out of my sight.” He grumbled, but kept a composed face as he turned to look at her once again.

From the minute her brother and Ophelia entered the library, Sasha could smell them. Despite this, she kept quiet to Lev and moved back to the table.

Lev gave a slow nod before turning his attention back to the flames. “You lycans are not to be trusted at all, and I’m going to kill you all as soon as I leave this home of yours,” Even though he spoke calmly, his voice boomed

with intense hatred.

Sasha inhaled deeply and flipped open the top book on the stack. “Do you believe that threats will cause your sister to show up?”

“Yes.” Lev’s eyes grew wide as Ophelia’s words sprang forth.

“Hello there, sister!” Vladmir exclaimed joyfully, acting as though he hadn’t seen his sister in a long time. But he was only bothersome.

Sasha sighed and looked in the direction of Ophelia and Vladmir who were making their way toward the fireplace.

Vladmir instantly poked Sasha in the forehead, and Ophelia ran to Lev as he was standing up. Her face was beaming with joy, almost as if she wanted to embrace him, but as she approached him, her smile shook and disappeared.

Vladmir and Sasha shared a perplexed appearance.

When his sister’s expression abruptly changed, Lev’s smile also disappeared and was replaced with guilt. She moved a step away from him, feigning a grin.

“I’m relieved that you’re well.” Ophelia mumbled. She was truly pleased that he was clean and free of scars, but she made no attempt to approach him or touch him.

Lev extended a hand and gave her a gentle nod, but she backed away hurriedly, slipped, and fell to the ground.

Vladmir and Sasha both let out a gasp.
