The warmth of the hearth soothed her, but the hot tea in her delicate touch almost made her forget about her concerns. Ophelia pursed her lips, her gaze meeting Lev’s, which was almost permanently fixed on her.
Sighing, her gaze was drawn to Sasha and Vladmir, who were also seated and holding cups of tea. They appeared surprised rather than curious.
“So…” Vladimir drewled.
Ophelia arched her brow. “Do you have any further questions?” She had to inquire.
“Of course I do!” Vladmir exclaimed, tsking. “Are you scared of your brother?”
“No.” Ophelia took a sip of her tea and muttered.
Vladmir slowly nodded. “So, why didn’t you two hug?”
“Enough with the probing questions, Vlad,” murmured Sasha to her brother. She noted how Ophelia and Lev appeared to be bothered by their
presence.
She rose to her feet. “Let’s go,” she said to Vladmir, who rose up with a pout on his lips.
“I really want some of those biscuits.” Vladmir groaned as he walked after Sasha, who was gracefully strolling away.
Ophelia smiled softly as they faded from view, then turned at Lev, who
didn’t appear to be looking away from her anytime soon.
“Why on earth are you in Celestia?” she gritted her teeth.
“You left without a word.” Lev muttered.

She let out a frustrated sigh. “I can’t believe this.”
“How long have you been here?” Ophelia inquired, her brows pressed together.
“It’s the same time as you. Just that, unlike you, I was apprehended and imprisoned right away.” Lev replied casually, taking a sip of his tea.
Ophelia stiffened. Her brow furrowed. “What?” She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Her brother had followed her in secret and had been imprisoned since he set foot in Celestia. Her hold on the tea cup tightened, and she inhaled deeply to calm herself. But she couldn’t help but wonder if Nikolai was aware of her brother’s captivity.
“Were… Were you tortured?” Her voice and grip trembled.
Lev sighed as he noticed her rage. “Clearly, I am a dragon in the land of wolf shifters… You don’t need to be concerned, Ophelia; it’s all over.”
“I’m truly sorry.” Ophelia exhaled and stood up. She was conflicted, and she felt foolish! She was going to make these wolves pay for abusing her
brother.
Len rushed up to her, but he came to a halt before he could get any closer. His sister froze and fixed her gaze on him, his heart tightened.
“There’s nothing to apologize for… I eavesdropped on Sheldon and discovered that you were planning to murder Celestia’s Alpha heir. I was concerned, so I had to follow you in secret.” He lowered his eyes and explained himself gently.
Ophelia shook her head in amazement. “And your stupid action and decision landed you in a dungeon!” He jerked away as she snapped.
“I… I was worried,” he mumbled.
Ophelia breathed heavily. “Plans have changed… I’m not sure how father

and Esteban learned about the Alpha heir, which prompted them to assign me this mission.”
“Many are unaware of his existence, despite the fact that I have heard that Alpha and Luna have a son.” Lev muttered gently, scratching his chin as he drifted off into his thoughts.
“I want to put a stop to the impending war.” Ophelia informed Lev confidently.
His pupils dilated. “What? Father will be vehemently opposed. You can’t make your own objective.”
“I don’t care; I don’t want a fucking ridiculous bloodbath.” Ophelia muttered, crossing her arms across his chest.
“Do you believe the royal family has moles? Moles who notified father and uncle about Nikolai Novikov’s return.”
Ophelia cocked her head at her brother. He no longer resembled her younger brother, but rather a man. A physically fit man. He was in better shape than Vladmir. She held a smile.
“You know about Nexus?” She inquired, impressed by him.
Lev chuckled uncomfortably. “The dungeon guards love to gossip.”
Ophelia nodded slowly and moved away from him, delicately grasping her tea cup. “Lev.. we haven’t seen each other in three centuries, and gods! You are still my little brother despite how much you have grown, but I do not want you to get involved in any of this. Return home.”
Ophelia’s heart was burdened with remorse after not seeing her brother in three hundred years. Because of her, Lev was compelled to stay away from his family. It was all because of her. Her heart grew heavy just thinking about it, yet her eyes were dry, no matter how hurt she was.

“I want to help you and stick by you.” He persisted.
“This is not a game!” He widened his eyes as she snapped. “My life seems to be predetermined by fate, and I am struggling with the desire to avert a horrible conflict that could ruin our family. Lev, even for me, it’s too
