The Lycan's Forbidden Mate novel Chapter 83

83 A promise?

Nikolai didn’t anticipate having two cousins visit him in one right. He wanted to sleep since he was exhausted, but instead here he was giving his cousin, whose mother he had killed, a handkerchief.

Dark.

Yulia wiped away her tears, taking a big breath. She was seated in the same chair that Viktor had been in earlier. “I don’t know whether you noticed, but I’ve been absent for the past two days. To avoid me getting into problems with you, Father sent me away.”

“Good father decision.” Nikolai stated indifferently, attempting to hold back

a yawn.

“However, I arrived earlier today because I had no intention of going to

Luna Alina’s birthday ball which was last night. But after learning what had happened to Ophelia, I decided to finish the job.” She wiped her nose as she finished her words, pursing her lips.

Yulia appeared to be at least sixteen years old. It didn’t seem like her immature character would change anytime soon. Although young, she wasn’t naive. Perhaps a little naive. Nikolai could have killed her back at the forest ground but he didn’t because he couldn’t. He had a conscience and was proud of himself.

“So you broke into Sasha’s room and stole a vial of Dimorie to kill my wife.” Nikolai spoke bluntly. For obvious reasons, he immediately felt compelled to wrench her head from her body. He took a deep breath and then closed

his eyes.

“I.. I did it primarily because you killed my mother, took my father’s eye, and seriously injured Boris!” He quickly used his hands to cover her lips as she yelled.

He exhaled deeply as he opened his eyes. “If you wake her up, I’ll take your head off of your body.” Although he spoke gently, it was impossible to ignore the danger that resounded with every syllable.

Yulia slowly nodded. “Am I the only person who is aware that you are wed to her?” His hand was over her lips, muffleing her voice as she asked.

Nikolai took his hand away from his mouth and let out a long sigh. “They aren’t morally upright.”

“Who? Boris and the father?” Yulia questioned, her eyes expanded and she laughed. “You are the psychopath here, and to be honest, I don’t like your wife.”

he looked stiffly back at her body to notice that she was wearing new clothing. A peach nightgown that complemented her fair skin. It had red rose embroidery patterns.

As soon as the door opened, her cheeks got red, her eyes grew big, and she sank back into the bed, wrapping the blanket around her head and entire body. She could tell it was Nikolai by the ominous presence. She could feel her heart about to jump out of her chest as he drew nearer to the bed.

That comforting voice she had missed, “FireStorm,” echoed in her ears. How long had she been unconscious?

She called, “Lai Lai,” her voice masked by the thick but plush blanket.

“Why are you hiding?”

“Did Sasha bathe me?” She had to inquire despite the fact that she knew he was the one who had given her a bath and changed her clothing. “Tell me it’s Sasha, please.”

“It was Sasha.” Nikolai deadpanned, pulling the blanket off her face.

I saw everything that I wanted to taste.” He whispered nodding ontinuously.

Squeaking, Ophelia pulled the blanket back over her face. “How dare you! Without my consent! That’s harassment! Oh gods! Please help me.”

As she started talking out of nervousness and embarrassment, Nikolai smiled, shook his head slowly, and walked over to the table where a tray of breakfast was set out. He then strolled back to the bed and sat down next to her.

He was taken aback that she hadn’t inquired about the spear. She was really something.

“Breakfast has arrived.” She gingerly pulled the blanket away from her face after hearing him call, gazing at the tray of foods before settling into a sitting position.
