The Lycan's Forbidden Mate novel Chapter 91

91-Secrets of the blood pearl (1)

[Trigger warning: Child molestation, Child labor, and Child abuse]

In the dim, spacious dining room of Celestia’s imperial castle, fire torches at every turn made it appear as luminous as day.

With bright smiles on their faces, Alexander, Alina, Devin, Maria, Albert, Anastasia, Yakim, and Tiana were all seated, enjoying their meals and chatting with one another. Their smiles blended with the friendly atmosphere that prevailed.

In contrast to Tiana Novikov, who was eating and talking to her husband while forcing a grin, everyone else was more genuine. Alexander, who was devotedly caring for his wife, was the subject of her continual gaze. Her brown eyes shone with envy as she tightened her hold on her fork.

“Do you believe it’s a good idea to allow the children to go hunting by themselves?” Anastasia abruptly questioned.

In response to his worried wife, Albert chuckled, “This isn’t the first time they are hunting by themselves.”

“Pavel has joined them.” Maria whispered to comfort Anastasia, who nodded.

“Yes. I had forgotten that Nikolai had been condemned to the dungeon for murdering the maids.” She sighed and mumbled uncomfortably.

In an instant, smiles disappeared, the mood changed, and the warmth was gone.

Alexander stared at Alina with concern. Tiana smirked, looking at him then rose up, rolling her eyes.

“Enough torture, we should at least give him some food.” She said,

“No.” Alexander scowled.

“Alexander, please show some compassion.” Tiana laughed as she took a platter of sauced meat and walked away.

When she arrived at the dungeon, which had only one fire torch as a light source, her eyes narrowed to a corner of the dungeon to find a

four-year-old child seated and trembling.

The dungeon’s iron bars were rusted and covered in dust. Tiana shook her head in annoyance.

“Nikolai.” She called out in a crooning tone.

He raised his head and gave her a startled expression. Tears and terror twinkled in his olive-green eyes. His face was quite filthy, and his body was covered in blood.

“Dinner is here, Nikolai.” Tiana added with a small smile.

“I don’t want to eat.” muttered Nikolai.

“Food is good Nikolai, it will make you a powerful lycan, powerful enough to remain my puppet.” Tiana said nonchalantly. “Come now.”

Nikolai hesitantly got to his feet. His lengthy hair was unkempt, and his clothing was so big that they swallowed his small frame. One would mistake him for a female given his petite features and large eyes.

He swallowed, focusing on the food Tiana was holding. “What are you going to do to me?” Small and hesitant, his voice echoed.

“I’m going to force you to eat and show you how to exact revenge on the people who wronged you. People who beat you for killing those maids, such as your father.” Tiana muttered, watching him approach her slowly.

She took a little piece of meat and pointed it at his chapped lips as he clung onto the rusted bars. “I.. I keep seeing blood everywhere… I’m scar..”

“Oh, quiet down.” Tiana sighed and shoved the steak into his mouth with great force before grabbing him harshly by the jaw.

She smiled, digging her claws into his cheeks and his eyes filled with tears. “You talk way too much. I’m working so hard to make you nuts, and you’re trying to ruin my efforts by trying to spill my secret to those around you!” “Stay away! I want my mother!” Little Nikolai screamed and sobbed uncontrollably.

“Sadly, I have taken steps to ensure that nobody will be able to rescue you from my grasp. A whiner is my ticket to power. Unbelievable.” Hissing, she pushed him away.

Nikolai cried out before tumbling to the ground and slamming his head against the hard ground.

Tiana chuckled as he bursted into tears. The blood pearl that was worn by her as a necklace was oozing a thick red mist. She was swallowed up by it, and when she emerged in the dungeon, she knelt down in front of Nikolai, who moaned in agony and forced himself into a sitting position.

“Wipe those tears off!” She slapped his check hard and glared at him.

“I…”

She slapped him once more.

“I…”

“I told you to stop crying!” She gave him another slap, this time with her

thoroughly grazing his skin.

ut in agony. “Help me! Father! Mama!”

w wide with rage, and she slapped him harder and directly had cut his cheek.

She hollered.

With his hand covering his mouth, Nikolai tried to muffle his cries, but nothing could stop the tears from welling up in his pain filled eyes.

“Oh goddess! This is unbelievable.” Tiana chuckled as she watched the tear stream down his partially bloodied face. “Even if they come here, no one will believe you, little one. Do you know why no one will ever believe you?”

“My father will kill you.” Nikolai whispered, his voice muffled but she could hear him clearly.

“Sharp tongue.” Tiana smiled before heaving a heavy sigh and turning her complete attention to the little one. “You look exactly like your father… And those eyes are just like your mother’s. Unfortunately, they don’t give a dami about you and you’re the reason for their deteriorating relationship.”

“I’m… I’m not.” Nikolai mumbled, shaking his head. He was accustomed to parental neglect. There were moments when they would look after him, and other times they would hurt him with their own suffering.

Every time she hurt him, Tiana led everyone to believe that he hurt himself.

To Nikolai, there was no difference between his parents, and Tiana.

“You all are bad!” Nikolai sobbed. “I didn’t kill those maids!”

She grinned. “Oh really?”

She tapped his head with a nod while adjusting the blood pearl dangling from her neck. “But you did,” Her fingers were burrowing into Nikolai’s hair as she spoke. She felt the back of his head to feel for blood from his fall earlier.

“You made me do it.” He whimpered.

“I did…” She trailed off, looking at her bloodied fingers.

“I did, didn’t I?” She laughed rubbing his blood on her blood pearl. “You are going to do it again for threatening me.”

Nikolai’s eyes grew wide. He screamed, pushed himself back, got to his feet

and fled in terror to a corner.

“No.. no! I’m sorry! Forgive me! Mama! Help!”

Tiana sighed and stood up. “You always tend to scream for your mother more than your father. When will you understand that you are a curse in her life? A curse I forged?” Tiana lost it and he jolted.

“You are my key to power! My key to kill Alina! She ruined my life! She took what belonged to me and I am going to ruin her!” Tiana yelled as she approached Nikolai, ripping off his shirt in one swift motion.
