Chapter Two Hundred Fifteen
Tears streamed endlessly down Ravenna’s face. Her trembling hands never let go of the brilliant white blade buried deep inside Thorne’s chest. The battlefield had fallen silent. Even the feral rogues surrounding them had stopped moving, as though the very air had frozen.
The blade was unlike any weapon Talon or Diana had ever seen. It was not forged from steel. Nor silver. Nor enchanted metal.
It was made entirely of pure white magic.
Its translucent blade glowed with a warm golden-white radiance, gentle enough to soothe yet powerful enough to force back the darkness surrounding Thorne. Ancient runes slowly appeared along its length, each one shining brighter than the last as Ravenna poured every remaining drop of her magic into it.
Thorne looked down at the weapon embedded in his chest. There was surprisingly little blood. Instead… Black smoke poured out around the wound.
The darkness inside his body writhed violently, desperately trying to push the blade out. It couldn’t. The white magic held it firmly in place.
For the first time in what felt like an eternity… Thorne could breathe.
The constant whispers inside his mind… Stopped.
The endless screaming… Faded.
The memories that never belonged to him… Began to loosen their grip.
His body trembled violently. He placed a shaking hand over the blade.
“What…”
His voice cracked.
“…is…”
His dark eyes slowly widened. The hatred… The endless rage… The suffocating darkness… It all began to peel away like layers of black mist.
It felt… Like waking from an endless nightmare. Like taking his first real breath after drowning for
centuries.
His vision blurred. Then slowly… It cleared.
And the very first thing he saw… Was Ravenna.
Not Agatha.
Not Lucian.
Not Gideon’s memories.
Ravenna.

Her dark long hair streaked with silver danced gently in the wind. Her pale eyes overflowed with tears.
She was smiling through unbearable pain. Just looking at her… Made something inside his heart ache.
A deep ache. An ache that felt.., Familiar. Several feet away…
Diana stared in complete shock.
“.. Ravenna…”
she whispered. She had never imagined this. Not even for a second.
When they spoke in her room… Ravenna had already accepted the possibility that she would have to retreat. She had told Diana that if the battle turned hopeless, Diana had to escape. Protect the pups. Live to fight another day. She had never once mentioned…
This
This was never part of the plan.
Beside her, Talon slowly stood despite the lingering pain in his body. Fenrir watched silently through his eyes. Neither wolf nor man could move. They simply watched.
The blade shining inside Thorne’s chest radiated an overwhelming aura of peace. Even Fenrir felt it.
“This magic…”
Fenrir whispered.
“…it isn’t meant to kill.”
“No.”
Talon answered softly.
“It was never meant to kill.”
They both realized it at the same moment. The blade wasn’t destroying Thorne. It was saving him.
Ravenna could barely remain standing. Her knees threatened to give out beneath her. Every second the Blade of Healing remained active… It consumed her life force. Not simply her magic. Her very soul.
She knew the price the moment she summoned it.
The Blade of Healing…
The greatest sacred magic ever passed down through the White Witches. Only one White Witch in every generation possessed enough purity to call upon it.
Not because it required immense power… But because it demanded complete selflessness. It could heal wounds it could heal poisoned magic. It could restore broken souls. It could even cleanse curses…
If…
The one being healed… Desired to be saved. That was the greatest limitation.

The Blaue of Healing could never force someone to abandon darkness. It could only clear the path.
The choice… Always belonged to the one whose soul it touched.

Which was why no White Witch had ever used it against Gideon’s curse before.
No vessel… Had ever wanted to let go. They embraced the hatred. They embraced Gideon’s pain. Until it
became their own.
But Ravenna… Had seen something. Just one tiny crack. When she called Thorne’s name.
That tiny moment… Had given her hope.
Hope…
That Thorne was still alive beneath the curse. She watched his eyes carefully. The darkness… Was retreating. Very slowly. The black veins creeping across his neck began fading.
His dark irises flickered. The shadows surrounding him weakened. His breathing became uneven. She
knew.
The blade was working. But… Not enough. The curse was fighting back. She could feel Gideon’s hatred resisting every inch of healing. With trembling fingers… She slowly released one hand from the glowing blade. The magic immediately became less stable.
Her body swayed. Still… She reached toward him. Her fingertips gently brushed against his cheek.
The moment her skin touched his… Thorne flinched.
Not from pain. From familiarity. She caressed his face exactly as she had done countless evenings before.
Gentle. Loving. Patient. Her thumb slowly wiped away a tear she hadn’t realized had escaped his eye.
“My love…”
Her voice broke.
“So many nights… I dreamed of touching your face again.”
Fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.
“I thought… I thought I had lost you forever.”
Thorne stared at her. His lips parted. He wanted to say something. Anything. But no words came. His mind was a battlefield.
Fragments of memories crashed together violently. A woman laughing beneath moonlight. Tiny hands resting against his chest. Warm bread fresh from the oven. A small cottage. Morning sunlight. Her voice.
“You’re going to be an amazing father, Thorne.”
Another memory. Ravenna asleep beside him. The sound of her heartbeat. Her smile when she looked at him.
Then… Darkness.

Hatred.
Blood.
Revenge.
The memories collided until he couldn’t tell which belonged to him anymore.
He clutched his head.
“No… No…”
The curse screamed inside him.
“SHE LIED TO YOU!”
“SHE BETRAYED YOU!”
“AGATHA LEFT YOU!”
“KILL THE SILVER WOLF!”

Thorne cried out in agony. Ravenna stepped closer despite the danger. She cupped both sides of his face.
Making him look only at her.
“Thorne… My love… Please…”
