Talon’s voice echoed across the battlefield, carrying the unmistakable authority of an Alpha King.
“Find them!” he roared, his aura surging through every warrior present. “Find Ravenna and Thorne! Ravenna has exhausted almost all of her magic, and Thorne is unconscious. They cannot have gone far!”
Every royal warrior immediately bowed their heads before scattering into the forest.
“Search every inch of our territory!” Talon continued. “If they crossed our borders, follow their trail. I want reports every fifteen minutes. Do not stop until you find them!”
His golden eyes shifted toward his Beta.
“Enzo.”
The Beta stepped forward without hesitation.
“Don’t let them escape,” Talon ordered, his voice cold enough to freeze the air around them. “They will answer for what they did to my Luna.”
He tightened his hold around Diana’s unconscious body. Her head rested limply against his shoulder. Her silver hair was stained with dirt and dried blood from the battle. Although Ravenna’s attack had not been meant to kill, watching Diana thrown through the air was something Talon knew he would never forget.
Fenrir growled violently inside his mind.
“She hurt our mate.”
The wolf’s fury shook their shared consciousness.
“When the warriors capture her… I will make sure she suffers. We should never have trusted
the White Witch.”
Talon closed his eyes briefly. For a moment… He agreed. They had welcomed Ravenna into Black Howler. They had opened their pack to her. They had allowed her inside their home. She had slept beneath their roof. She had promised to protect Diana.
And in the end… She had chosen Thorne. Chosen the vessel carrying Gideon’s curse. Everything she had said… Everything she had promised… Had it all been nothing more than lies?

Talon couldn’t answer. Right now… He didn’t want to. All he wanted was to make sure Diana and their unborn pups were safe. The rest… Could wait.
Without another word, Talon shifted his attention back to his unconscious mate. He carefully adjusted Diana in his arms, supporting her head against his chest.
“Fenrir.”
“I know.”
The massive wolf immediately pushed his strength through their shared bond. Warm energy spread through Talon’s muscles. His speed doubled. He shot through the forest like a silver arrow. Trees blurred past him. The wind roared in his ears. As he ran, he opened a mind link.
“Healer.”
The response came almost instantly.
“Alpha?”
“Prepare the examination room immediately. Diana has been injured. We are almost there.”
The healer’s voice immediately turned serious.
“Understood. Everything will be ready.”
Talon ended the connection and continued running. Behind him… The sounds of battle slowly disappeared. Enzo would handle the aftermath. He trusted his Beta completely. Enzo would organize the warriors. Confirm every feral rogue had either been killed or driven away. Strengthen the borders. Search for Ravenna and Thorne. Check casualties. Make sure every bunker was safe before allowing the pack members to emerge.
That was why Talon had chosen Enzo as his Beta. He never needed to wonder whether Enzo would fulfill his duties. For now… Talon had only one responsibility. His mate. His family.
The doors of the Black Howler Hospital burst open.
“Alpha!”
Several healers rushed toward him the moment he entered. The Head Healer was already waiting. She immediately noticed Diana’s pale complexion.
“Lay the Luna here.”
She pointed toward one of the treatment beds. Talon carefully placed Diana onto the mattress as though she were made of glass.

He never let go of her hand. Not even for a second. The healer immediately began examining her. Her hands glowed with soft healing magic as she carefully moved them over Diana’s body. Another healer prepared herbs. Another checked Diana’s pulse. A fourth quietly stood by in case additional healing was needed.
No one spoke. Only the faint chanting of healing spells filled the room. Talon stood beside the bed, his entire attention fixed on Diana. His heart clenched every time she remained motionless. The healer finally looked toward him.
“Alpha.”
“What happened?”
Talon took a slow breath before answering.
“We defeated the feral rogues. Thorne appeared.” We fought.”
He briefly explained everything. The collapse of Ravenna’s barrier. Thorne’s attack. The Blade of Healing. The disappearance of Gideon’s curse. And finally…
“Ravenna attacked Diana.”
The healer paused in her examination.
“What?”
Talon’s jaw tightened.
“She struck Diana with white magic. Then escaped with Thorne.”
The room fell silent. Even the other healers stopped what they were doing for a moment. The Head Healer returned to her examination. She placed one glowing hand over Diana’s chest. The other… Over Diana’s stomach. A warm silver light surrounded Diana for several long moments. Talon barely breathed. Every second felt like an eternity. Finally… The healer smiled. The first genuine smile Talon had seen since the battle began.
“Alpha… The Luna is going to be fine.”
Talon’s shoulders visibly relaxed.
“The attack exhausted her. Nothing more.”
He blinked.
“Are you certain?”
“Yes.”

“I do not know why the White Witch attacked the Luna. But she was careful. Very careful. She directed almost all of the impact away from the Luna’s abdomen.”
The healer looked thoughtfully at Diana.
“It appears Artemis instinctively protected the pups. The attack never truly reached them.”
Talon looked at Diana’s stomach. Then gently placed his trembling hand over it.
“Our pups…”
The healer nodded warmly.
“They are unharmed. They are both strong. They are resting peacefully.”
Talon released a long breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding. Relief flooded his entire body.
“Thank the Moon Goddess…” he whispered.
Fenrir let out a relieved howl inside his mind.
“Our little wolves are safe.”
The healer continued.
“The Luna’s body simply reached its limit. She has been fighting every night. She is carrying twins. Her wolf has been using most of her strength protecting the unborn pups. Then today’s battle…”
She shook her head.
“It was simply too much.”
Talon gently brushed Diana’s silver hair away from her face.
“Why isn’t she waking up?”
His voice had become noticeably softer. Almost afraid. The healer smiled reassuringly.
“As I said… The Luna isn’t seriously injured. She is exhausted. Her body is forcing her to rest. She will wake up when she has recovered enough strength. There is nothing to fear. She simply needs sleep.”
Talon leaned down and kissed Diana’s forehead.
“I’ll stay.”

The healer nodded.
“I expected nothing less.”
The other healers quietly left the room, giving their Alpha privacy. Only the Head Healer
