Walking Away While Pregnant: Dear Ex-Husband, I Don't Love You Anymore novel Chapter 151

Chapter 151: Chapter 151

Dylan looked at Fleur, his eyes deep and dark.

In the past, he would have offered her a few words of comfort. But today, from the moment Robin was rushed to the hospital until now, he hadn’t uttered a single word of consolation, no matter how much she blamed herself or wept.

Fleur kept her head down, her sobbing continuous. Dylan’s cold detachment made her increasingly anxious.

Could he be starting to suspect me? she thought frantically.

Suddenly, her mind raced. A split second later, she closed her eyes, and her slender frame went entirely limp, collapsing toward the floor.

"Fleur!"

Dylan lunged forward, catching her just in time. Her eyes remained tightly shut, and no matter how many times he called her name, she didn’t react. He had no choice but to scoop her up and stride out of the ward.

"James!"

James emerged from the hallway and stepped forward quickly.

"Take her to the emergency room."

James froze for a second, looking at Fleur in his boss’s arms. "Am... am I supposed to carry her?"

"Who else?" Dylan frowned. "I need to stay with Robin."

James nodded immediately. "Yes, sir."

Taking Fleur from Dylan, James turned and rushed toward the emergency room. A nurse noticed them and hurried over. "Are you heading to the ER?"

"Yes."

The nurse walked briskly beside him, pulling out her phone. "I’ll call the doctor on duty right now. Why did she faint? Does she have any underlying conditions?"

James kept his stride steady, his expression unchanging. "She has a history of depression..."

Dylan watched them leave, stood in place for a moment, and then turned back into the ward.

About fifteen minutes later, James returned.

Fleur was still unconscious. The ER doctors suspected the fainting was brought on by extreme emotional distress, which, compounded by her history of depression, warranted hospitalizing her for observation.

James asked, "How should we arrange the eldest Madam’s room?"

Dylan stood by the window, his tall silhouette framed against the glass. He stared out at the night cityscape, his sharp features reflected darkly in the windowpane. His deep eyes betrayed no emotion.

James waited by the door for his answer.

After a long silence, Dylan’s deep voice cut through the quiet. "Put her on a lower floor. Keep her as far away from Robin as possible."

James caught himself for a second, then bowed his head. "Understood, sir."

With that, James turned and left, his footsteps gradually fading down the quiet hospital corridor.

Dylan turned around, his gaze settling on Robin’s pale little face on the hospital bed. The room was deathly quiet. After a long while, a soft sigh echoed in the silence.

Dylan stayed by Robin’s side all night.

Throughout the night, the boy was plagued by nightmares. He never fully woke up, but he thrashed around, letting out piercing, agonizing screams, whimpering broken phrases like "No!" and "I won’t do it again!"

Each outburst brought the on-duty doctors and nurses rushing in.

Ultimately, considering how weak Robin’s body was and how detrimental this state was to his recovery, the doctor recommended administering a sedative safe for children. Dylan reluctantly agreed.

Only after the medication was injected did Robin finally quiet down. By then, the sky outside was beginning to pale.

Dylan called Oliver again, telling him to make sure Jessica Sanders got there as fast as humanly possible. The moment Jessica learned what had happened to Robin, he didn’t waste a second; he directly prepped his family’s private jet and took off for Rainport. At this rate, he would arrive at the hospital by noon.

After an hour’s drive, they arrived at the hospital just after ten in the morning.

The atmosphere inside the ward was suffocatingly tense.

Robin had woken up earlier that morning, but his mental state was deeply concerning. His eyes were vacant, and he was completely unresponsive to his surroundings. When Dylan called his name—even after several attempts—the boy would only blink blankly, his empty gaze refusing to lock eyes or offer any acknowledgement.

The hospital’s top neurologists had already run a thorough examination and confirmed there was no internal brain trauma. Given the results, the specialists explained that since physical trauma had been ruled out, the condition was highly likely psychological.

Fleur stood by the bed, weeping into her hands, though she was secretly ecstatic. She was praying that Robin had actually been turned into an idiot—that way, she would be completely safe.

Dylan’s brows were knitted tight. Watching Robin lie there like a hollow shell, his heart ached with a dull, heavy pain. Just yesterday morning before he left, Robin had been happily waving at him, saying, "Goodbye, Daddy, come home early!"

How had he broken like this overnight?

"Hi..."

Elise’s voice drifted in from the doorway.

Dylan and Fleur turned around at the same time. Elise stood at the entrance, with Alexander right beside her.

Seeing her arrive with Alexander, Dylan’s already grim expression turned dangerously cold.

"Mr. Hayes and I came to check on Robin," Elise said, stepping into the room.

Alexander followed her inside, setting a gift basket of fruit and children’s milk onto the side table. He then looked at Dylan, his tone smooth and polite: "Robin was out at sea with us yesterday. Now that he’s sick, I feel I bear some responsibility. So Miss Harper and I talked it over this morning and thought it best to come visit."

Dylan let out a cold, mocking scoff. Ignoring Alexander entirely, his pitch-black eyes locked onto Elise.

Elise remained completely composed, meeting his gaze evenly.

Suddenly, a harsh smile curled Dylan’s lips, his voice dripping with venom. "Elise, in what capacity exactly are you visiting Robin right now? As his godmother, or as Alexander’s mistress?"
